- Tatev Monastery - Standing as a cornerstone of Zangezour’s architecture, Tatev Monastery is unparalleled. It was once the richest medieval monastery in Armenia. Beyond its religious significance, Tatev served as a crucial strategic hub for the Syunik kingdom. Nestled in a naturally fortified location, the monastery has always been an unassailable fortress against invaders. During times of political instability, several secret passages within the fortress led to the canyon, providing a vital connection between the monastery and the outside world.
- Wings of Tatev | Tatever - On October 16, 2010, the bells of Tatev rang out to celebrate the launch of a project to restore a medieval monastic complex and the inauguration of the “Wings of Tatev Ropeway.” This 5.7 km ropeway, constructed in just 11 months, traverses the deep gorge of the River Vorotan and hills covered in lush forests. Supported by three towers, the tramway connects two terminals: one on a hill overlooking the village of Halidzor and the other near Tatev Monastery, on the road to Tatev village. Two cabins operate simultaneously, traveling in opposite directions. The system uses six cables (three for each cabin), each designed specifically for this project. In about 11 minutes, a tramway cabin transports 30 passengers at a time from Halidzor village to the stunning Tatev complex.
- Shaki Waterfall - A natural wonder of Armenia. You won’t believe your eyes when you arrive at this breathtaking destination.
- Karahunj - The Carahunge monument features a central circle, north arm, south arm, northeast alley, a chord across the circle, and separate standing stones. The site is abundant with stone arrangements, burial cists, and standing stones (menhirs). A total of 223 stones have been identified, along with numerous unnumbered stones and fragments.
The stones are made of basalt (andesite), weathered by time and adorned with colorful moss and lichen. Their heights range from 0.5 to 3 meters, and they can weigh up to 10 tons.
