This volcanic lake is encircled by mountains reaching 3000 meters and higher. The stunning scenery and pristine waters create an ideal setting for relaxation. The lake is also renowned for its peninsula and the medieval church complex built in 874.
- Monastery Sevanavank - A breathtaking view unfolds in the northwestern part of Lake Sevan, where the peninsula rises above the lake’s clear surface. The Sevanavank Monastery was constructed on the peninsula in 874 by the order of Princess Mariam, daughter of King Ashot Bagratuni. The silhouette of the churches against the turquoise lake and blue sky leaves an indescribable impression on visitors.
- Dilijan - Dilijan captivates with its unforgettable beauty and mild climate. The city lies along the banks of the Aghstev River, surrounded by mountains and forests. Known as a health resort, Dilijan’s warm sun, fresh air, and natural spas offer significant healing benefits. The city is also rich in fascinating architectural monuments.
- Haghartsin Monastery - Nestled in the woodlands of the Tavush region, Haghartsin Monastery is a remarkable example of the harmony between nature and architecture. Founded in the 10th-11th centuries, additional structures were added in the 12th-13th centuries. It now includes the churches of St. Grigor, St. Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God), St. Stepanos, and other buildings. The refectory, with its masterful architectural design, is particularly noteworthy. Nearby, a massive oak tree, nearly as old as the monastery, once stood, enhancing the scene. Although only a small part of the hollow remains today, it continues to intrigue visitors and upholds the tradition that making a wish while passing through the hollow will bring it to fruition soon.
- Dilijan National Park - Located in Armenia’s Tavush Province, Dilijan National Park is celebrated for its lush forests, mountainous landscapes, and rich biodiversity. Among its notable wildlife is the Caucasian red deer, once nearly extinct in the area. Thanks to a reintroduction program and a local breeding center, these magnificent creatures are being protected and gradually reintroduced to their natural habitat within the park.
