- Garni Temple - The next destination is Garni Temple (77 A.D.), the only standing pagan temple in the entire post-Soviet region. The temple elegantly stands on a high plateau overlooking the Azat River gorge, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The Greek-Roman bathhouse with its mosaic, composed of 30,000 pieces of natural stone, and the ruins of the royal palace, transport visitors back to the 3rd century A.D.
A short 10-minute walk from the Garni Temple leads to a charming local restaurant with a spectacular view of the temple, where visitors can unwind and participate in a master class on tasting freshly baked lavash, the traditional Armenian flatbread.
- The Monastery of Geghard - The Geghard Monastery complex is another historical site featured in this tour. St. Geghard represents the lance used by the Roman centurion to pierce Jesus after the crucifixion. This lance was later brought to Armenia and preserved in Geghard Monastery for five centuries. The complex showcases 13th-century Armenia, considered the Golden Age of the country’s architecture. The most remarkable aspect of this complex is its architectural design, with churches carved into solid rock, constructed according to Armenian architectural principles. Geghard Monastery is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Symphony of Stones - This magnificent natural monument is not only a “must-see” location in Armenia but also a “must-have photos in” spot.
Please note*
Visitors can explore the “Symphony of Stones” until the first snowfall.

Garni - Lavash baking master class.
Lavash is one of Armenia’s most iconic gastronomic symbols and an essential part of Armenian cuisine. This traditional soft, thin flatbread is baked in a tonir (special oven). Although baking lavash requires specific skills, it is traditionally done by women. Lavash has been enjoyed by all classes of Armenian society for centuries, valued for its unique taste and long shelf life without losing its quality. In 2014, “The Preparation, Meaning, and Appearance of Traditional Bread Lavash as an Expression of Armenian Culture” was added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. During this master class, participants will learn the ancient technique of making lavash and, of course, taste home-baked lavash with fresh herbs and delicious local cheese. The aroma of lavash will leave a lasting impression. - Matenadaran - The Museum of Ancient Manuscripts - Additionally, guests can choose to visit the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, also known as Matenadaran. It houses one of the largest collections of ancient manuscripts in Armenia and was established in 1959. The museum complex is located in the institute’s original building, which initially had only one exhibition hall but now boasts fifteen halls with numerous exhibits. During exhibitions, visitors can view manuscripts, individual miniatures, documents, old printed books, and more. Matenadaran is not only a repository of ancient manuscripts but also features halls showcasing the works of the great Armenian master Martiros Saryan. It is not just a gallery; it is also a renowned Research and Cultural Center.
