- Kayah State - This is one of the most unique tour programs available! The “Myanmar Secret Beauties” specializes in one of Myanmar’s most beautiful cities, renowned for its “Kayan” tribes, the legend of the “Thudanu prince and angels,” and its pagodas. Travelers can explore the villages and local lifestyle in Kayah, with the highlight being a trekking tour to study local culture. Visitors will also see Yangon, Inle Lake—known as the Venice of Southeast Asia—floating gardens, leg-rowing fishermen, arts and crafts workshops, and Indein, which resembles Angkor Wat in Cambodia. You can visit the villages and experience their way of life, including the opportunity to communicate with villagers and cook a typical lunch together in their homes.
- Seven Stages Lake - These lakes are said to be where the mythical Kinnare-Kinnara bathed. There is a wooden shelter-like building where snacks and food are sold. I tried Kayah sausage, steamed vegetables wrapped in banana leaves, and fried dried frog there. It’s a great spot for a picnic.
- Taung Kwe Pagoda - Taung Kwe means broken hill. Taung Kwe Zayde is a hilltop pagoda with a cluster of nine stupas atop nine limestone outcrops. It is the most famous site in Loikaw. The view from the top over the entire town of Loikaw and the distant mountains is quite impressive. You can climb the steps to the top or take the elevator. Visit in the morning or evening to capture beautiful sunrise and sunset photos.
