Instead of crops and grains, plum trees are cultivated on farmlands, boasting white snow-like blossoms in March and bearing plentiful ripen plums in June. The annual Plum Blossom Festival takes place in the village every March when the plum blossoms are in full bloom.
- Jeonju Hanok Village - Jeonju Hanok Village is located in the city of Jeonju and there are over 800 traditional Korean hanok houses. Hanok Village retains its historical charms and traditions. This village is especially beautiful for its unique roof edges which are slightly raised to the sky. Known as Seomjin Village or Maehwa (Plum) Village, this area is dedicated to the cultivation of plum trees rather than traditional crops and grains. In March, the village is adorned with white, snow-like plum blossoms, and by June, it is abundant with ripe plums. Every March, the village hosts the annual Plum Blossom Festival, celebrating the full bloom of these beautiful flowers.
Jeonju Hanok Village
Located in the city of Jeonju, this village boasts over 800 traditional Korean hanok houses, preserving its historical allure and traditions. The village is particularly noted for its distinctive roof edges, which elegantly curve upwards towards the sky.
