Mengdong River Scenic Resort - The Red Stone Forest National Geological Park is situated in Guzhang County within the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in western Hunan Province. It overlooks the picturesque Furong Ancient Town across the Youshui River and lies on the route between Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang Ancient Town. Therefore, you can include Furong Ancient Town and the Red Stone Forest National Geological Park in your itinerary when traveling between Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang. It is the only known red carbonate stone forest in China, as other stone forests in the country are typically gray.
