It was much more than we imagined and that was thanks to our guide Jerry , who went beyond his time and made it the most memorable part of our China trip . He suggested the Tang Dynasty show and even helped organise our trip back from the hotel to the airport. love to visit again

There is no other experience in my... -
There is no other experience in my life that could have prepared me for the effect I felt when I first entered Pit 1 and saw the Terra-cotta Warriors and their horses! Amazing is too weak a word, and pictures do not even begin to tell you what this exhibit is truly like! As they say, You had to be there! It is perhaps the most impressive historical site I have ever visited. I want to go again!

Our customized tour included the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, Hua Qing Palace, Muslim Quarter and Great Mosque, and City Wall. Wendy was very flexible and was knowledgeable about Xian's history. We enjoyed all of the historical knowledge that we learned from her. This tour is great since it includes seeing the Terracotta Warriors but also allows you to customize the remaining sights that you want to see.

Enjoyed the day and was very glad to have Victoria there to translate, interpret and provide commentary.

Not sure how I feel about this one... -
Not sure how I feel about this one. The tour doesn't include any of the admissions, so expect to spend another 60 - 100 for a group of 3. You are basically getting transportation and a guide and for that, you are spending a lot. Well overpriced. You can get super cheap transport out to the terracotta warriors without much effort.

That said, the guide was very good and nice. He helped us purchase our tickets. He did have information about the site and he english was good. He also made suggestions for other things we could do while in Xi'an.

We had a good time. The terracotta warriors themselves were very neat. We then visited the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and treated to a separate tour and private calligraphy demonstration. That was neat. But it's probably twice what it should cost.

So I don't know. We enjoyed it. Paid a bit for it. But I can see where an extra couple 100 may be worth the guide and the lack of hassle. It was hassle-free.

Michaela was a great tour guide. She... -
Michaela was a great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the sites that we visited. We chose to start at the Big Goose Pagoda in Xi'an, followed by the terra cotta warriors and finished with a walk on the city walls. It is important to note that you get nothing except your driver and tour guide with the price of this tour. You will be expected to pay entry fees at all of the sites.

We were taken to an obvious tourist trap restaurant for lunch. We ordered a few items and felt pressured to order more dishes. We wound up paying for our guides lunch she went to the bathroom when the bill arrived and the entire meal cost more than we spent on food for the entire time we were in Xi'an 4 days!. I would have rather eaten street food from the vendors outside, than have the sit down meal in the restaurant

We felt rushed around at both the pagoda and terra cotta warriors. I wanted to stay and take photos at the pagoda, but felt like we were constantly chasing after our guide. When we finished our day at the wall, we said goodbye to our guide and told her that we would walk home. This took her by surprise, as she was expecting to take us to dinner and drop us off at our hotel. Since we didn't want to spend another 50 on dinner, we passed and enjoyed a slow and quiet walk around the city wall.

The transportation was the only... -
The transportation was the only upside of this private tour as the driver was great and the vehicle was comfortable. While our tour guide was friendly and her English was limited yet understandable, the way that she conducted the tour was not very professional: We were rushed through all 3 sites, her commentary and historical knowledge was lacking, and we weren't always given the option to visit all of the areas the sites had to offer. We also ended up treating her to lunch, which was fine yet unexpected. So considering everything we paid for including entry fees, we did not feel that the tour was good value for money. It just didn't seem that much effort was put into preparing it.
