Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbishan) - Typically, the tour begins with Elephant Trunk Hill.
Elephant Trunk Hill is the iconic landmark of Guilin, renowned as a tourist destination since the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907). The hill resembles a giant elephant drinking from the river.
Enjoy a brisk walk to the top and visit the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644) Puxian Tower, built to honor Samantabhadra. Learn about its history from your tour guide, then take in the panoramic views of the city, Li River, and surrounding scenery.
Yunfeng Temple - Continue to Yunfeng Temple, one of Guilin’s famous ancient temples. It was the residence of Monk Jianzhen, a prominent monk of the Tang Dynasty, who traveled to Japan six times to spread Buddhist teachings and help regulate monastic behavior. Stroll around the temple and the exhibition gallery on the second floor.
Fubo Hill - Proceed to Guilin’s Fubo Hill. Fubo Hill stands beside the Li River and rises dramatically from the landscape, known for its natural beauty and historic art.
Follow your tour guide to explore Buddha etchings dating back to the Song and Tang Dynasties (618 - 1279) at Thousand-Buddha Cave and Pearl-Returning Cave. Admire the Sword-Testing Rock and learn the legendary stories behind it.
Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan) - Next, head to Reed Flute Cave. Over millions of years, dripping water has sculpted the cave into a unique world of stalactites, stone pillars, and rock formations. Explore key spots such as Tower-shaped Pine and Crystal Palace. In addition to the stunning natural scenery inside Reed Flute Cave, there are many inscriptions on the walls, including 77 travelogues and poems from the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
Then, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Seven Star Park (Qixing Gongyuan) - In the afternoon, stroll around Seven Stars Park. The park boasts elegant mountains, clear water, a miraculous stone forest, serene valleys, abundant wildlife and plants, and valuable cultural relics. It has been popular since the Sui (581-618) and Tang (618-907) Dynasties.
Cross the Flower Bridge, built during the Song Dynasty (960-1279), the oldest bridge in Guilin.
Putuo Mountain - Explore Putuo Mountain, where Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is worshiped. The mountain is rich with caves and pavilions. At the summit, you’ll find Putuo Stone Forest, Xuanwu Pavilion, and Zhaixing Pavilion. Additionally, there are numerous valuable tablets on the mountain. You can choose how far you wish to explore.
After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Guilin.
Guilin-Yangshuo (B, L)
Li River - Your private English-speaking guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 8:00 am and transfer you to Zhujiang Pier, where you will embark on a boat cruise down the Li River to Yangshuo County. The Li River Cruise is considered a highlight of any visit to Guilin.
Gui Lin Zhujiang Pier - Along the river, enjoy breathtaking views of peaks and pinnacles, crystal-clear water, and picturesque pastoral countryside. The river is divided into three sections, with various attractions like peaks and villages along the way, each with descriptive names that spark your imagination. Listening to your tour guide’s legendary stories about the attractions is a delightful experience as you appreciate the landscapes. Most stories are mystical fairy tales and love stories. The cruise typically lasts around 3.5 to 4 hours, depending on water conditions.
Xingping Fishing Village - The Li River takes a significant turn at Xingping, offering beautiful and poetic scenery. It has been depicted in many Chinese landscape paintings, and the newly-issued 20 RMB note features this scenery on its back. A photographer once remarked, “Shots from any perspective of this place are impressive and stunning.”

Shili Hualang - In the afternoon, explore the Ten-Mile Gallery in Yangshuo.
Strolling down a country road feels like traveling through a painting. This is true of the Ten-Mile Gallery in Yangshuo County, a fairyland on earth. As the name suggests, Ten-Mile Gallery is a picturesque road stretching from the Yangshuo town area to Moon Hill, featuring rolling hills, endless fields, idyllic villages, and clear rivers on both sides.
Guilin Butterfly Spring - Along Ten-Mile Gallery, there are several famous sites you should not miss, such as Butterfly Spring Park. In the park, peculiar peaks, grotesque rocks, magnificent waterfalls, and bubbling springs are found everywhere. A winding path leads to the sightseeing terrace, where you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of Ten-Mile Gallery.
Big Banyan Tree - As the journey through Ten-Mile Gallery continues, you will encounter a Big Banyan Tree, over 1,400 years old. Follow your tour guide to stroll around, learn about the love story of Liusanjie, and see how new lovers come here to make wishes for their future.
Moon Hill - Your last stop is Moon Hill. Let your tour guide know if you wish to stop for photos.

Longji Rice Terrace Scenic Spot - Meet your tour guide in the lobby of your Yangshuo hotel, board your private air-conditioned vehicle, and head directly to Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces, a journey of about 2 hours. Sit back and enjoy the scenery along the way.
Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - The construction of the remarkable Longji Rice Terraces began in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and continued until the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful rice terraces in the world. Among them, two main and representative viewing areas are the Ping’an Zhuang Village Terraced Fields and the Jinkeng Terraced Fields, where Zhuang and Yao Minority people have lived for hundreds of years.
Huangluo - Your first stop is Huangluo Long Hair Village, where you will enjoy an amazing long hair show. Huangluo village in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is home to descendants of the Yao ethnicity. The women here are known for their red embroidered dresses and long hair, which has earned their home recognition as the “world’s longest hair village” by Guinness World Records. The long hair of the Yao women is a symbol of auspiciousness. You will have lunch in the local village.
Dazhai - During lunch, discuss with your tour guide the routine that interests you most, then set off to explore. Typically, you will start with the Jinkeng/Dazhai Rice Terrace.
There are three popular viewpoints at Dazhai: Music from Paradise, Thousand Layers to the Heavens, and Golden Buddha Peak.
You will drive 40 minutes to Dazhai (Hongyao Jinkeng) Rice Terrace. Take the convenient cable car for about 20 minutes directly to Golden Buddha Peak. During the cable car ride, enjoy the amazing view of the No. 3 sightseeing zone. Upon arrival, follow your tour guide and take an easy walk around to capture photos from different locations, offering unexpected shots. Take your time visiting the locations where you can explore and create fantastic photographs. After the tour, descend by cable car. After the tour, you can choose to end your tour in Longsheng or return to Guilin.
Ping’an Village - The second option for this tour is to visit Ping’an Rice Terrace after lunch. You will drive 30 minutes to Ping’an village. Follow your tour guide to hike and explore. Compared with Dazhai Rice Terrace, Ping’an village is smaller in scale, yet still considered very beautiful, offering the undulating and intricate scenery that lives up to the name of “dragon’s spine.” You will explore two famous scenic spots - West Hill Music or No.1 viewing platform, and Large-scale Thousand-Layer Terraces or No.2 viewing platform.
