- Stavrakia - The journey begins at Ammoudara Beach, situated west of Heraklion. From there, the route heads south. After traveling 5 km, the path reaches the University of Crete and the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), where the direction changes to westward cycling. After covering 12 km (around 40 minutes) on a low-traffic route, the village of Stavrakia is reached, positioned at an elevation of 240m. This marks the first stop of the trip. In the village, visitors can enjoy activities such as admiring Mount Juktas to the east. It’s a great spot to hydrate and rest before continuing the journey.
- Agios Myron - The next destination is the village of Agios Myron, located at an elevation of 440m at the base of Mount Psiloritis. It is reached after a 17 km ride (approximately one hour and 10 minutes). Here, visitors can pause to explore the church and tomb of Saint Myron, one of Crete’s early bishops from the 4th century AD. Nearby, a cave offers a chance to see Saint Myron’s renowned miraculous holy water.
- Agios Myron - Another notable feature in this village is the school’s clock tower, visible from nearly every part of the area. Initially built for the church tower, it was relocated to the school due to its unsuitability. Agios Myron is perched atop two hills, offering breathtaking views.
- Pentamodi - Departing from Agios Myron, the route descends and then ascends through numerous olive groves and vineyards. After 3 km (15 minutes), the path arrives at Pentamodi, a village at 320m elevation. Here, riders can enjoy the traditional houses and charming narrow streets.
- Petrokefalo - Following Pentamodi, the journey continues uphill for 2 km (8 minutes) to the next village, Petrokefalo, situated at an elevation of 330m.
- Voutes - The final village on the tour is Voutes, located close to the city, making it a popular residential area for commuters. The village, at 240m elevation, also features delightful taverns.
- Ammoudara Beach - After leaving Voutes, it takes about 25 minutes to return to the starting point at Ammoudara Beach, where a refreshing swim and Greek meze await.
