A Must! - On our second full day, March 1, on Curacao, we had booked this excursion and were quite pleased that we did. The launch site is really out in the middle of nowhere and the boat is definitely not new, but the two crew members were very knowledgeable and great to be around. For food, they fixed me a vegetarian dish, which I thoroughly appreciated. They took us to several places to snorkel. Of course, the ocean water is great for snorkeling just about anywhere around Curacao that has calm waters, but we had some really awesome snorkeling areas. We saw several sea turtles, many sea worms, thousands of fish (including needlefish, flying fish, a pufferfish, and various colorful ones), a sting ray, a barracuda (fairly small one), numerous frigates and herons (at the turtle beach, the herons are so tame, two literally swam within a foot of me gulping down their rather large catch of fish), and a shipwreck. One of the beaches has cliff jumping, which was fun. I told the captain, who doesn't like heights, that it is part of the deal to join me. He decided that was not part of the deal! When I booked the excursion, I did not realize that it was Carnival week, so they were quite accommodating by having the trip rescheduled to VERY early in the morning, so we could get our full scheduled time. Otherwise, they said it would be midnight before we could ever hope to get back to the resort. I would highly recommend this private tour!
