- Temperatures in the Wieliczka Salt Mine are around 15°C (59°F).
- The tour begins with 400 steps down and includes over 800 stairs in total. Some passages are narrow and may feel claustrophobic. The return to the surface is by the authentic miners lift.
- It should be taken into account, that very narrow paths occur in the Salt Mine that can seem claustrophobic.
- Your hand luggage should be in a reasonable size and your larger luggage should be left in the car.
- There are no restrictions regarding the age of children, but they should be either capable of walking unassisted or carried in baby slings or baby carriers, baby pushchairs are not allowed underground.

Simply beautiful - What a wonderful day out to see the extensive mining lanes and what is undeniably the most beautiful salt mine in the world. The sheer scale and the brilliant works of art scattered throughout the mines are just impossible to put into words. Our driver Marcin was also extremely friendly and helpful making the adventure all the more memorable. If you are in Krakow, this trip is a 100% must do!

Brilliant driver - We had a very nice experience with Krakow Direct at an excursion to the Saltmine 18.10.23 in the afternoon. Unfortunately I can’t remember the drivers name but it was something with “Jero”. He was a brilliant driver. So helpful, so nice a driver, a very good organizer and he just made the whole bus laugh and smile. Wish everybody to meet him at an excursion sooner or later.

A Smooth Experience with a personal touch - Our group of 4 booked two excursions with Krakow Direct and we were very impressed with each.
Bartek, our private transfer, was also very knowledgeable of the local area and Poland as we made our way to the Salt Mines. He took care of entry into the site and made sure we were in good hands for the tour. After the tour, we talked about many things, but conversation led us to recommendations of local Polish cuisine in Krakow. We decided to stop for lunch at one of the recommendations and the Polish dumplings were absolutely delicious.
We would like to return to Poland and we’ll definitely book via Krakow Direct again! Thank you

Lots of steps down - We had a great young girl has our guide, she was very knowledgeable about the mine. There are lots of steps to go down to start the tour but a lift brings you back up. But is very cramped but good.. it’s amazing down there in the big halls. Coffee shop and toilets half way round tour. Highly recommend.

Fantastic service provided and great value - We used Kraków Direct for all our activities during a 4 day visit to the city. This was a definite highlight! Picked up promptly from our hotel by a very polite driver in an immaculate Mercedes mini bus. The salt mines are incredible and a real must if you are staying in the city, with an English speaking expert guide and eat pieces linked to her mic so that everyone could hear. Such good value too. Hugely recommend.

Nothing wrong - More than just a driver, Mickael led us the way to the salt mine. Perfect service from pick up at the youth hostel to salt mines until drop off in front of his bar recommendation. Nothing wrong

Krakow Salt Mine's - Brilliant tour, we had Michael as our driver, who not only was very funny with he's jokes about America embassy (McDonald's) but was also very informative and pointed out places and sights of interest.
The mine is great be prepared for a lot of steps and walking but its all worth it, i can assure you.

Great trip to Salt mine - We booked the salt mine tour via Krakow Direct.
Driver turned up on the stated time and although we were picking up from hotels etc., this was done quickly and we were soon en route to the tour.
The underground part was carried out by tour guides from the mine and I will review that separately.
Suffice to say, the return journey was equally efficient and the cooperative driver even let us off earlier in order to catch a tram.
If coming back in the future, this will be one of the companies I am likely to turn to for tours etc.

Salt Mine Krakow interesting history - The driver was fantastic and got us to wand from the Salt Mine safely. The tour was in a group and the guide knew his stuff!
