Marvellous whales and penguin experience - It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get close to the marine life around Cape Town. As with all wildlife watching, it depends a bit on the season. For the whales, it was literally the last few days before the last one migrated back to the Arctic. Nevertheless, after a 90-minute trip, we spotted two female right whales with their calves. We also saw cape seals, dolphins and sharks, you could not expect more. The penguin colony was amazing. Breathtaking, for me anyway. You could get very close (safe for you and the penguins!), just a metre away from them. The whole colony must be at least a few hundred birds, some of them in the process of feathering, a very unique situation. The birds have become habituated to people, and all safety measures are taken to avoid disturbing the wildlife. At the very end of the day we went for dinner, a pleasant place. We skipped the wine tasting, but that was up to me, as I prefer to stay with the brides as long as possible (I was the only client). A beautiful sunset we experienced was added to all the above. Very well organised trip, on time, flexible when needed. Highly recommended.

Great way to see whales - Everything was wonderful. The tour driver, Martin, was right on time for the hotel Pick-up. The drive was great and he explained things along the way there and back. The whale watching tip was awesome! We saw the southern right whales several times. I'd highly recommend this trip.

Excellent driver and nice day whale watching in Hermanus. - My husband and I booked a car and driver to take us to Hermanus to whale watch. Our driver, Martin, showed up right on time in a nice, very clean van. Martin was very pleasant and a safe and careful driver. When we arrived in Hermanus, he knew where to go to park so that we could watch the whales. He also suggested a very good restaurant for lunch which was on the 2nd floor with a beautiful view of the ocean. We watched whales while we ate! He took us back on the coastal route and stopped several times so that we could take pictures. A very nice day! Would definitely recommend Martin and this company!!

Nice day - The drive to Hermann's was about 1 hour, 45 mins from the V&A Waterfront. The whale watching was nice; it was mating time, so we saw a lot of activity. Although this was set for 2 hours, it was more like 1 hour, 20 mins. It was enough time. The drive back was along a scenic road. You should know that there was no time or accommodation for a meal. The day was long - leaving Cape Town at 9am and returning at about 4pm. I asked the driver to stop for a snack, but built in time would be appreciated. Note that you should either ask for a stop or bring a small meal.

sort of whale watching in Harmanus - The boat was far too small for the number of people take onboard... much too small especially since the weather was not good and the seas were rough bouncing passengers around, many got seasick and there was no way for all to sit and get away from the vomit.... waves were at the edge of the boat water washing over the boat and coming into the 'cabin'... for info, we did see whales, I was not sick but it was not a pleasant experience and I would not recommend it to other people. I found the arrangements irresponsible.

Deceived by Viator - The drive to and from Hermanus is limited to 8 people but the boat trip was with a big group. I have read the comments before and was contacting viator about the group size, they confirmed a small group with max. 8 people also for the boat trip. That wasn’t the case… you barely see whales but the driver was very nice

Saw some whales. - In a group of almost 90 people! Online description said group of 8. It was okay. To expensive in my opinion. Even though we saw some southern right whales. That was fascinating.
