Mario was the best! - Mario was the nicest tour guide! What I loved about this trip, is it felt like we literally rode through town with an actual local, and learned about the island! It felt like hanging out with a friend and not just someone you hired. He was very hospitable, fun and educated about the sea and the island. The tour itself was beautiful. I was excited that we actually got to some deep-ish waters and not just 7 feet snorkeling. The walk from the cruise port to RTGA was about 10 minutes but they gave such detailed instructions, we had no issue. However if you’re coming from a cruise make sure you have WiFi/service or else I wouldn’t have received the instructions the morning of. They also took some awesome pics of us! 100% book with them instead of an excursion with a cruise line, it was the highlight of my trip.

Great local feel - Me and one friend booked the snorkeling excursion with RTGA(roatan tour guide association) and had a great time. Our tour guide Mario was very friendly and knowledgeable. He sent us very detailed instructions on how to get out of the port to the pickup area. He then picked us up right outside of the port and took us to West End. Along the way he told us quite a bit about the island and his time there. Once we arrived at west end we had our own boat ready to take us out to snorkel. Mario made sure all of our gear was functional and safe before hitting the water. He then lead us around the beautiful snorkeling locations all while taking photos to send to us afterwards. When we were done he was more than happy to show us the shops and food that the West End had to offer. We were not rushed whatsoever and got a locals perspective on everything they had to offer. Once we were done checking out shops he also returned us to the port. The entire experience was amazing. Definitely better than anything I have booked through a cruise/all inclusive in the past. He made us feel like we were the number one priority and was such a great guy. I cannot recommend Mario and RTGA enough. If you are in Roatan, definitely check out their snorkeling package or one of their many other packages.

Great day in Roatan, Favorite Port City with Viator excursion services! - Our family of 8 with adult kids and teens (youngest 13 yrs) had a great day in Roatan with Mario our guide. He met up with us easily outside the port, and we got to a boat to snorkel right away. Some of the best snorkeling we've ever done. It felt safe, the snorkel gear provided worked great if there was a leak they had extras. Everyone loved it! We did 2 diving spots, that seemed just right, but you could easily do a 3rd one. Mario was enthusiastic and happy and made the tour more fun and enjoyable. We loved the photos he took and sent us as part of the excursion. We made arrangements for Mario and the driver to take us to the Chocolate Factory, get a bite to eat, and then we had the afternoon to ourselves at West Bay with Mario and the driver getting us back to port in plenty of time. Roatan was our favorite port town. Great place and vibe to visit, relax, and enjoy.

Amazing Snorkeling Adventure - Puts Others to Shame - My family and I recently went on an incredible snorkeling tour with Mario in the West End of Roatan, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip! Mario took us to two amazing spots: the Blue Channel and the Aquarium. Both locations were stunning, with vibrant coral reefs and an abundance of colorful fish that put other snorkeling tours we'd done to shame. The underwater scenery was breathtaking, showcasing the beauty of the second-largest barrier reef in the world. What made this tour even more special was that it was completely private. This meant we could explore at our own pace without worrying about keeping up with a group. Mario was an excellent guide, and his knowledge of the local marine life made the experience even more enriching. Don't let the fact that you're not a strong swimmer, prevent you from doing this tour! I used a life jacket and snorkeling equipment provided by Mario, which made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the experience. You don't need to be an expert swimmer to enjoy the beauty of Roatan’s underwater world. If you're planning a trip to Roatan, I highly recommend spending part of your vacation exploring the island's vibrant marine life with Mario. You won't regret it!

Bluest Blue Best Snorkeling Experience! - We had an awesome experience snorkeling with the Roatan Tour Guide Association. There were tons of colorful fish, and the highlight was seeing a spotted eagle ray! The water was the bluest blue, the visibility was fantastic, and the water was warm. Overall, it was a great experience for our family, including a first-time snorkeling child. Dani, the owner, was quick to respond to my questions and easy to coordinate with before the tour. Mario, our guide, was peppy and loves his job! Roatan was a day stop for us on a cruise; Mario drove us from/to the terminal; after snorkeling, we enjoyed lunch and beach time before heading back – Mario was very responsive to our needs. Having a guide for ourselves and only one other couple on the boat with their guide was a treat compared to other options. Note on equipment—they have Cressi brand equipment, which is good but used and better than other tours we’ve had. For reef protection, they did not provide fins, fyi, since we swim so close to it. I highly recommend the Roatan Tour Guide Association!
