Fox Glacier - Spend up to 3 hours hiking on the Fox Glacier, The fly-in, fly-out heli hike combines the excitement of walking on the Te Moeka o Tuawe/Fox Glacier with the thrill of helicopter flights. By flying in you can access and explore a part of the glacier where its forces work hardest and often create spectacular ice caves and arches. You will be outfitted with boots and crampons specially designed for these ice conditions. You follow the ice steps cut by your guide as you explore the amazing formations.
Please note that this is a natural and ever-changing environment. Ice features change constantly and no guarantee can be given that specific features will be seen. This is a weather dependent trip.

Awesome day - The Fox Glacier Heli-Hike was an incredible experience from start to finish! Everything ran like a well-oiled machine — from check-in to the helicopter ride to the hike itself. Big shoutout to our guide, Toa, who was not only super knowledgeable and fun but also rescued my phone after I accidentally dropped it into a crevasse (legend!).
The helicopter ride was amazing — we even got to rearrange seats on the way back so the girls could sit up front, which was a really thoughtful touch. The group organization was also great — not sure if it was intentional, but our group was a bit younger and more active, which meant we were able to move at a slightly quicker pace that felt just right.
The only suggestion I’d make is to include a designated snack break — they advised us to bring snacks, but we never had a clear moment to eat them, and it would’ve been nice to have a short, official pause for that.
Overall, a total bucket list experience. Would recommend in a heartbeat!

An unforgettable experience in Fox Glacier - Despite the cloudy, partly rainy weather, our guide, Jakey, truly made the day special with his friendly smile and professional knowledge. He made sure we had the best views to appreciate the stunning landscape, making the experience enjoyable for everyone in our group.
If you're considering a visit to Fox Glacier, I highly recommend this tour!

Amazing!!! - It is spectacular, we had an amazing experience. Would absolutely recommend and do it again! I normally get motion sickness, but was completely fine on the helicopter ride. I felt very safe the entire time and really enjoyed the heli ride and the hike. Make sure you dress warm and you’ll love it! They provide wet weather gear, shoes, crampons - they are very organised and the quality is excellent. The staff are all amazing, cannot recommend this experience and guiding company more highly.

Fox glacier heli hike is not to be missed!!! - An amazing experience! Our pilot was awesome as was our guide Campbell! Campbell was fun and also gave us interesting info on the glacier, he led us through crevasses and ice tunnels, it was absolutely awesome! Highly recommend this experience and Campbell!

Absolute highlight in NZ - I feel like we said 'this is the best day' every day we were in New Zealand, but looking back on it, this day sticks out as a highlight when people ask, what was your top 5 (we were there for a month).
I was nervous but our guide Fiona was incredible, made us feel safe the whole time and gave everyone a great amount of time on the glacier.
Everyone had equal access to the epic photo opportunities, so there was no benefit of being at the front or the back of the group.
The glacier is ever changing, so no two days here would be the same, which really does add to how special this experience feels. Well worth investing in this experience!

Incredible Heli Hike Glacier Experience! - We had an incredible experience with Fox Glacier Guiding on our Heli Hike! We were lucky to have a bluebird day with stunning views from the helicopter flight through the valley up to the Glacier where we got to spend about 3 hours on the ice. The guides were all lovely and made the experience safe and fun! We got to slide and crawl through tunnels, explore crevasses and visit some beautiful blue pools. Just being on the ice and seeing the different formations up close was amazing. Thanks so much to Fox Glacier Guiding, would 100% recommend this adventure!

Heli hike at Franz Josef - We were lucky that our trip proceeded as planned though skies appear cloudy. Heard there was no trips last few days due to weather conditions. It was an amazing experience to hike on the glacier and excited to take the helicopter for the first time. Thanks to our guide, Ryan who took us on this experience and was attentive throughout. Highly recommended!

Great experience - Our guide was excellent, explaining everything enthusiastically. I loved the hike—it wasn't too difficult and was truly a great experience. My friend which 63 years old also made it throughout the journey. When flying in the helicopter and looking down at the people waiting at the starting point, we humans appeared as small as peanuts compared to the glacier. Other guides were present to create and maintain our walking path, as the previous day's rain could cause the trail to change periodically. Shoes, socks, jacket, pants, glove and bags is provided. Recommend not to bring too much things with you. We were busy enjoying the views and taking pictures.

Best highlight for NZ! - Fantastic day out with the team!
Our original booking was cancelled 1 hour prior due to the rainy weather. Rebooking was a breeze by chatting with them through tripadvisor.
The next day all was rosy, did our weight ins and safety briefings. Crew was all very helpful and very organized to suit us up with thermals and accessories and I was amazed by the range of boots sizes they have like a skating rink! There's simply no need to bring anything other than yourself and a camera.
We had 6 groups to board 2 helicopters, as usual very organized. Spent the waiting time taking photos and talking to tour mates, didn't seem a long wait.
Our guide was Keely and she was fantastic at the safety briefings as well as guiding us. She gave us ample time for our instaworthy shots and was super encouraging when we waved off the photo opportunity. She made sure everyone have their photos!
I understimated my fear of slipping and lagged behind the group trotting slowly for safety. Keely rescued me by reassuring me it's ok to take big steps and holding my hand throughout to make sure I can keep up. Indeed I sped up 10x from her assurance that I will not fall. Super ❤️❤️❤️ to Keely!
Overall is was fun and definitely worth every penny of our money spent!

Not what its hyped to be! - Drove 5 hours to take the heli hike! Definitely not what its hyped up to be!it was like a scout club stood around for a lot of the time! And were more focused on foreigners than others! Wouldn't do it again not this one anyways!Definitely not worth the money!on the up side did get some nice photos!
