- Mida Creek Nature Camp - The group will gather at Mida Creek Nature Camp a few hours before either lunch or dinner, based on the group’s preference. - Mida Creek Nature Camp - The group will gather at Mida Creek Nature Camp a few hours before either lunch or dinner, based on the group’s preference. Together, everyone will learn to cook an authentic Kenyan meal! Some of the favorite recipes include Ugali, Githeri, Kenyan Pilau, Wali Wa Nazi, Sukuma Wiki, Mchicha, Kenyan Stew, Nyama Choma, Matoke, Mandazi, and Grilled Maize. Each session will feature a different dish from Kenyan tradition, and requests are welcome!
The main instructor will be the host’s wife, with the entire family participating. Once the meal is ready, participants can either take it home or, preferably, enjoy it together with the hosts!
The camp provides a beautiful setting for this experience, offering an opportunity to cook over a campfire using traditional methods and tools, all while being surrounded by nature. The ingredients are primarily homegrown, and there is a small shop at the camp to supply any missing items.
Participants are encouraged to contact the hosts before the experience to discuss any allergies or intolerances and to request special dishes they would like to try. The experience can be scheduled for either lunch or dinner, according to preference!
