Book the tour! - Our original plan was to tour the museum ourselves, but there were no tickets available during our stay in DC. However, an excellent tip if this happens to you: you can still get in if you book a tour! And actually, I’m glad it worked out this way, because Tim was lovely. Very knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. It’s a massive museum, even with a large portion being closed off for renovations right now, so it was good to have someone navigate it for us!

Air and Space - Another amazing Smithsonian museum, this time concentrating on Air and Space. The displays are phenomenal, some are interactive and others are audible. The only disappointing thing is the missing history of Gustave Whitehead the true first in flight inventor. If you don’t know the history, research and you might be surprised.

Save time and get more background on the exhibits. - The museum is filled with history of aviation and space. This is a tour you should not miss. Our guide provided interesting historical references and background information. I like the efficiency of entering at a designated time with our tour guide and seeing a great deal of the museum in two hours.

Air and Space Museum Tour... - Air and Space Museum Tour Review with Rebecca If you’re planning a visit to the Air and Space Museum, make sure you take the guided tour — and if you’re lucky enough to have Rebecca as your guide, you’re in for a phenomenal experience. From the moment the tour began, Rebecca brought history to life with her passion, deep knowledge, and engaging storytelling. She didn’t just walk us through exhibits — she connected the dots between aviation milestones, space exploration breakthroughs, and the human stories behind them. Whether she was describing the Wright brothers’ first flight or the awe-inspiring Apollo missions, Rebecca made every stop feel important and alive. Her energy was infectious, and she welcomed questions at every turn, making sure everyone — from curious kids to lifelong aviation enthusiasts — felt involved and inspired. She had a way of explaining complex topics in accessible, relatable terms, all while keeping the pace moving and the group engaged. What stood out most was how personalized the tour felt. Rebecca didn’t deliver a script — she responded to the group’s interests, adjusted based on questions, and even offered extra insights that aren’t found on the exhibit plaques. It’s one thing to see the artifacts and read about history — it’s another to experience it through someone who clearly loves what they do. Rebecca’s tour added so much value to our visit, and I’d highly recommend requesting her if you can. Five stars — thank you, Rebecca!
