Well done Warwick castle - England done well!! The actors were fab, it was a whole history lesson made fun. Queuing wasn’t great, for food and to make sure we got a seat at each of the timed shows, but we were at a day that was sold out! And the day was still amazing

Warwick Castle - Warwick Castle is an absolutely fantastic day out, packed with history, excitement, and top-tier entertainment. The highlight for us was without a doubt the jousting show—what an incredible performance! The actors were full of energy, skill, and humour, bringing the medieval spectacle to life in the most captivating way. Truly world-class! One small note—the walk from the car park to the castle is a bit of a trek, especially in the heat (as we experienced over the weekend), so be prepared and bring some water. But once you're in, it’s more than worth it. Highly recommended for all ages!

Mini Break young family - We attended mid week. 2 night stay as a young family of 4, with a 7 month old and a 3 1/2 year old. Castle We had a 2 day ticket as part of the Zog anniversary. The castle was amazing and we filled both days easily. A lot of it, especially for children, is outside so we were lucky to have good weather. Not many food outlets were open as, although May, it was out of season and relatively quiet in the grounds. We came prepared with a picnic for both days and just treated ourselves to an ice cream. There is plenty of space to picnic. Although not open, it was clear food in the castle was pricey so I would recommend picnics. We attended the Zog live show, princess tower and falconry show on both days. They were really good and the falconers quest was exceptional. We had seen reviews and can agree it is amazing. We went to the later 3.30 show which had less people at due to the school trips heading home. Accommodation We stayed in a lodge, we wanted to sit outside on the deck whilst the kids were asleep early. It’s a great option. It was medieval themed and really well done and spotless. My only suggestion is having a mini fridge in there so we could have stored our picnic bits for day 2. Food was good for breakfast and dinner. We ate at the restaurant the first night which was a bit like a carvery, It’s expensive, my 3 year old can be fussy and the choice is good but it’s not worth the £15 for her as she didn’t want much of it. The second night we ate at the tavern and it’s more basic pub grub but cheaper. Before arrival I looked to go off site and eat but it’s not worth the effort as there is good evening entertainment. Entertainment was a zog bedtime story, sword fighting lessons and display and a park on site. It’s a great way to finish the day. Staff. A mention to all the staff, from the ground staff, the falconry show, to all the actors in their roles. They made the effort and nothing is too much trouble. They all look like they enjoy their job! Natalie at reception sorted out our missing Zog gift packs with little trouble. Tim in the restaurant was very welcoming. The lady who got the very young children (and adults) into the sword fighting. I really can’t mention them all but they are a credit to the experience. I will certainly look to return if this continues, my 3 year old loved it, we all did as a family.

Perfect toddler experience - Warwick Castle was an amazing day out for our family (3 year old and 2 year old). We bought the parent toddler deal for off peak which was extremely good value. We were there for opening at 10am and stayed till closing with so much to see and do. The zog playpark, meet & greet, quest & show were all amazing for little Julia Donaldson fans. The falconry experience was absolutely magical! Thank you for an amazing day filled with loads of memories.

A Day Out with the Grandchildren - We took the grandchildren for a visit to the castle. They thought the castle was brilliant and enjoyed looking around the artifacts within the castle. The Falconry display and Trebuchet firing where excellent. The birds of prey swooped very low over the crowd. Well worth a visit

Falconers Quest is the best! - Often thought about going so invested free time to undertake a new adventure. Purchased tickets on line and made a small saving over buying on site. The journey from the M40 is pretty simple and quick. Parking on site was plentiful but the distance to the castle was approximately a 20 minute walk, with the temperature heading towards 30 degrees that is a huge task. Thankfully there was a complimentary shuttle bus service. Be prepared to pay for your parking - £7 a car. In fact get ready to pay as you walk through the gate. This has to be the ultimate tourist trap, and the owners are aware of this. Refill soft drinks £12.95, want a latte? That’s £5.00. On the subject of coffee there is costa branding everywhere except it’s not run by Costa.. apart from being overpriced, the service was slow and the seating area a mess. I thought everything was expensive. Archery experience £7. Soon mounts up with kiddies in tow. There were free activities. We enjoyed the jousting/ history in brief display. Well choreographed and full of excitement. Well worth the effort. The pinnacle of the day had to be the birds of prey - stunning doesn’t to it justice. Sitting and have these magnificent creatures flying so close was a real honour. As for the final display where the sky seemed to be full of swooping birds. I’ll never forget this experience. I would also recommend taking time to walk the hall and the apartments, who knew history could be so colourful ! Would I return? With grandkids perhaps but not without taking picnic and drinks.

Our stay as two adults with a Zog obsessed SEN toddler - I'm going to review each part of our stay as two adults with a Zog obsessed SEN toddler. We traveled from York to Warwick and stayed overnight for one night at the knights night lodge. Honestly out of season it was slightly more expensive than we would have hoped but we made the most of it, travelling the same day as attending the events on site was challenging but it made sense for our family given the cost. (It would have been slightly more palatable if out of season anyone staying in onsite accommodation had free entry to the castle and grounds as it was quiet it would encourage more guests side note: other attractions around the UK do this as a selling point - just an idea 💡). We made day one our main day which meant arriving after lunch, we had luckily done our research and downloaded apps and had all attractions we wanted to see in our calendars. now what we didn't anticipate was the lack of signage and lack of staff to ask (off season) we immediately realized everything is back to back, no time to pause to go to the loo or ice cream if you wanted to see it you hot footed it to the next attraction which was some times 6/7mins of walking (slower with a toddler!). So you were always going to be late (slightly annoying) things we had seen during our visit: War of the Roses! I loved it I wasn't really my thing but ended up really getting into it my SEN toddler struggled with standing half way through but was still great well worth seeing! You can tell alot of effort had gone into the show and it really paid off. All things Zog... Zog show was great my son loved it, Zog meet and greet loved it again, we would have struggled if there was a que but off season (no que) Zog was very silly and it made my son's day! We didn't do knight school unfortunately but we walked passed to try and thought it was much more suited to a slightly older child possibly 6+ who can deal with a structured and verbal instruction attraction. Zog play park was incredible and my son did love it but please note for any children that struggles with startlingly noises there a few that my son found loud and a bit scary even with his ear defenders on (the lion sneezes very loud! Also as child sits on the red dragon slide it burps really loudly - I get in main season it would need to be loud for crowds of people but off season really should have been quieter). We didn't have time to do the Zog route to get stamps but it looked year 1 looked great. We did Falcons quest which honestly again I loved toddler didn't sit through it but I was so well done and such a worthwhile show. Just on a side note I would like to add the voice overs made the shows come to life and really added to the level of quality of the show. We went up to the top of the castle which was nice very castle like... The inside was nice the adults appreciated the rooms. The King maker was too old for us again was dark and slightly scary for us probably 6+, the princess bit was a lovely addition that we weren't aware of so didn't get chance but looked very pretty from the outside. It's worth noting: during June 2025 when we attended the park was only open until 4pm so we headed to check in at our accommodation at this time. From leaving the park it all felt slightly disjointed, signage, parking, timings, building names! (Have clear disgushable names for different buildings) where do you go - no one to ask, it was weird we got to the hotel which wasn't clearly sign posted, reception seemed slightly confused - turns out the terminology used on the booking and the terminology they use on site are slightly different 😮‍💨. Finally got our key card and unpacked one parent took child to the small park onsite (which is opposite 107!) and the other unloaded the car. We had booked the Zog package so at 4:30 Zog and Princess pearl read a story in the tavern this was lovely my son loved this as he really wanted to meet princess pearl too. We then headed to the restaurant for dinner reservations dinner was ok husband really enjoyed it, my son didn't really like it I was ambivalent and just hungry it was carvery style and was Pork with other options available. It was expensive for what it was but we pay for convenience I guess. During dinner two knights came round and ask if we wanted to go to knight school again it wasn't right for us and at this point my son was passed it - Paddington was on the phone so we could get something down us before bed. (Please don't judge, it was a big bay and not the normal for us to have screens during meals) He got a second wind and played on the park then we all headed to bed. Beds were comfy, the winter duvet on the double bed was absolutely hotter than the sun! Please change your bedding with the seasons! Luckily we brought my son's from home (struggles with change) now we decided to bring my son back to the room for 18:30 as he was too tired (the lady in the bar gave me a glass of cows milk for my son!) It's worth noting if you can stay up Zog reads a bedtime story at 19:30 but we were going to make it. Check out was at 11:00am which was nice 🙂 And we headed back North. Overall it was good my son loved all the Zog things as he is a huge Julia Donaldson fan! I think some clear signage, off season incentives, and attention to detail for the over night guests and it would have been somewhere we would have loved to attend year on year. As the attractions really were good I felt these things let the side down. Families: another note we didn't anticipate there were conference guests, people with laptops in the park area, one gave me a look when my child schreaked with glee - it wouldn't put me off but was slightly strange. I'm reticent to return for a while but I will return for the attractions one day. Thanks for reading hope it helped any questions regarding sleeping arrangements for SEN toddlers happy to explain how we did this.

Entertaining, sacred, historic. - Stayed in the knights village. Very clean and well presented accommodation. Very impressed with the breakfasts. Beautiful grounds. Thank you to all the staff and entertainers. The castle has so much to offer. The falcons and horses for the jousting are well looked after. The jousting arena is perfect for telling historic stories of old. The dungeon tours are well worth the money. The characters were very good at bringing it to life. Overall we had a fantastic stay. Only suggesting would be some axe throwing, sword and/or bow and arrow practice for over 13 year olds. It's very much geared to juniors, when added to zog world can make it seem like a Disney theme park castle at times if you are taking teenagers.

Mixed feelings. Very overpriced! - Mixed feelings about Warwick Castle- used to come here all the time as a kid growing up locally. However it is clear that it is a Merlin exit via the gift shop style cash cow. The main house was pretty much the same as it was in the 1980's- same set up etc. The Time Tower and Kingmaker exhibitions skated over the history of the Castle and made generalised links to the Battle of Hastings & War of the Roses. There wasn't really much specific history to the Castle. The Horrible Histories maze was good but again, generic history & nothing to do with Warwick Castle. The bird of prey show was good. Would I rush back? Nope. Unfortunately it all felt very much a rip off. Nearly £100 to get in. A 30 minute queue for 4 drinks and 4 cakes for £35!! And the audacity to charge £7 for a single doughnut (we did not partake) seemed like an absolute mickey take. On top of this £7 to park. It just feels like Merlin don't really give a damn about offering value for money. It was a decent day out but we won't be back anytime soon.

Cashless, child neglect. - My son went for a school trip, couldn't buy any food or drink as it was card only. We use cash to budget out finances like many other people. Not taking the family there and reminding others don't. Shame as I enjoy historic sites. Ah well, some one else will take my cash. Avoid unless your a digital payment sheeple.
