- Apollo Bay - This charming town offers a full range of services and is a popular spot for an overnight stay when completing the Great Ocean Road in two days. Ideally, more time is available to explore, but even in a short visit, the highlights are sure to be enjoyed.

- Apollo Bay - This charming town offers a full range of services and is a popular spot for an overnight stay when completing the Great Ocean Road in two days. Ideally, more time is available to explore, but even in a short visit, the highlights are sure to be enjoyed.
- Bells Beach - Known as Australia’s most famous surf break, Bells Beach’s impression depends on today’s ocean conditions. If the swell is small, the waves may not break much, and surfers might be absent.
- Cape Otway Lightstation - A must-visit on the Great Ocean Road journey, this lighthouse is considered Australia’s most important. After turning, it takes about 15 minutes to reach the Lighthouse arrival center. Drive slowly to spot koalas along the way.
- Bay of Islands - The Bay of Islands is surprisingly impressive. A short trail from the car park splits into two paths leading to viewing areas facing fully south and north, offering a fantastic two-for-one view with different perspectives.
- Erskine Falls - The first lookout is about 80 meters along and offers a lovely view of the falls. The sign indicates 220 meters more, but be aware of the steep stairs down and back up. It’s manageable for most, but those with mobility challenges might prefer the upper lookout. Enjoy the visit.
- Kennett River Nature Walk - Visitors hoping to see wild koalas may have luck at Kennett River. It’s surprising to learn that most Australians, unless living in a bush area, rarely see koalas.
- Loch Ard Gorge - Named after a tragic shipwreck, Loch Ard Gorge tells a tale of survival. The ship, Loch Ard, carried 54 passengers and crew, along with cargo, from England to Melbourne, encountering several days of bad weather.
- London Bridge Arch - It’s recommended to take the trail branch to the right. Although slightly further from London Arch, this view offers a full perspective of the arch’s width, enhancing appreciation of the ocean’s work.
- Lorne - As Lorne becomes busier with visitors exploring the Great Ocean Road or holidaymakers enjoying the beach, the local café and restaurant scene continues to thrive.
- Memorial Arch at Eastern View - Approaching the Memorial Arch, a parking area is immediately on the right. The arch was built after the Great Ocean Road’s completion.
- Port Campbell - Sightseeing in this coastal area is divided into two parts: the eastern and western sides of Port Campbell. On the eastern side, the 12 Apostles viewing platforms and Loch Ard Gorge are must-see stops.
- Split Point Lighthouse - Even for those not particularly fond of lighthouses, the views are stunning, and the “split” in Split Point is visible.
- The Grotto - This spot allows for close interaction with the formation and is perfect for photos. Stairs lead to the best vantage point and back up.
- Torquay - Entering a new phase of the Great Ocean Road drive, this section between Apollo Bay, Lorne, and Torquay was the most challenging to construct. The story of its construction will be revisited throughout the journey.
