- Shifen Waterfall - Shifen Waterfall is the most renowned waterfall in Taiwan, fed by the Keelung River. It stands approximately 20 meters (66 feet) tall and 40 meters (131 feet) wide. The walk to the viewing platform takes about 30 minutes, offering partial shade and a suspension bridge crossing.
- Shifen Old Street - Situated next to Shifen Station in the Pingxi area, this old street features an active railway line running directly through the market. Visitors can release sky lanterns on the tracks, pausing for passing trains.
- Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street) - Step into this former gold-mining mountain town, originally constructed by the Japanese, now a labyrinth of historical lanes and alleys. The charming streets, mostly stairways, are lined with snack stalls and teahouses and can become quite crowded. (Tip: To experience Jiufen at sunset or dusk, consider booking a departure after 11:00 AM. This will make Jiufen the final stop, allowing time to enjoy the sunset views and evening lights.)

Absolutely Incredible Tour – A Must-Do in Taiwan! - We had the most amazing experience on the Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi – and it was all thanks to our incredible guide, Nicolas Ying!
From start to finish, Nicolas made our day seamless, fun, and incredibly informative. His English was excellent, and he was full of fascinating insights, local history, and fantastic recommendations that really enhanced our experience. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does, and that energy made the tour even more enjoyable.
Each stop – Yehliu's stunning rock formations, Jiufen’s charming alleys, and Pingxi’s magical sky lantern experience – was unique and memorable. Nicolas made sure we were never rushed and tailored the day to suit our interests perfectly.
If you're short on time but want to see some of Taiwan’s most iconic spots outside of Taipei, this tour is the way to go. It’s well-paced, thoughtfully organized, and having a guide like Nicolas makes all the difference. Can’t recommend it enough!

Amazing!!! - It was the best!
Nice views, perfect scheduling, clear and practical explanations on every journey, plus with the amazing tour guide Mr Hwang! We love this tour so much! Perfect in every aspect! 10stars for Iur tour guide Mr Hwang, he made the tour so memorable!

Excellent time with your guide Vincent Lee - We did a one day private tour with tour guide Vincent Lee. His attention to detail and to making this a memorable trip was very evident from the start. It was a hot day but his car is set up to make things comfortable. At each stop his knowledge of where to go and where to take the best photos was very apparent. We would have no problems recommending Vincent and this company for others who are looking for a special experience while in Taipei.

This is a MUST - I can’t thank enough Vincent Lee for the tour! I have taken many tours around the world but this one blew my mind! He was on time! Very knowledgeable and helpful . We started the tour at 7am, picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off at same place. Every stop we made he explained and gave us plenty of time

It was a nice experience... - It was a nice experience to see a different part of Taiwan. The geopark was interesting and the scenery beautiful at Juifen and Sifen. Sending up the balloon was fun, ending with peanut crunch ice cream to end the tour.

Good but not great - The components of the tour would have been lovely but unfortunately we were not told that based on the start time we would not have enough time to see all the sights included. We picked a start time listed on the tour website (1 pm) which unbeknownst to us with travel time and time at sites didn’t provide enough time to see all the sights unless the order of the tour was rearranged. We were also not given any info to reschedule or revise in order to make sure we would make it to all the sights before or during the tour. The fact that a big part of the tour was undoable was address very nonchalantly without any regard to our time and money spent to see these specific sights. Additional, our tour guide left us alone a lot throughout the tour where it would have be great to have the private guidance, translation support and overall tour operations purchased. Matie did provide a great unique seafood experience, although overpriced, helped out when the establishment didn’t take credit cards and provided us with a night market to visit. Overall good tour but over priced for what we received and we are owed a refund for the entrance fee for the waterfalls we did not visit.
