Highly recommend - We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this packaged deal! They picked us up on time. Brian, our driver for the first part, was energetic and knowledgeable about the city. On the way to the first stop, he told us about parts of the city and history.
The plantation was a powerful tour that is a must-see while visiting the area. We drove past the other plantations on the way to pick up the other people he had dropped off. At Oak Alley, we had time to grab a quick drink and snack. This helped because it was an all-day tour. The airboat ride was a great way ti conclude the day. We saw lots of alligators and the weather was perfect.

Fantastic trip - great mix of history and excitement - Fantastic trip! Highly recommended. Went with 11 and 13 year old boys and they were interested in the information at the plantation and captivated by the airboat.

cant go wrong with this tour! - The Whitney tour is extremely interesting. The airboat tour was phenomenal. Our guide (maybe Jordon?), was super nice. We saw tons of alligators up close being fed, putting feet on top of boat, and jumping for food. Saw Raccoon come over for food and got to hold 8 week old alligator. can’t get any better than this tour! The ride back from tour was great too- great interesting driver.

Crescent City Tour - We couldn't go to Whitney Rain caused power outage so went to Laura Plantation. Very moving. Beautiful spot for such a dark history. Airboat was fantastic! Our driver Larry Pembrick was very knowledgeable and enjoyed his talking.

Whatever you plan to do in New Orleans, make sure they include a tour with Brian at Crescent City Tours - I did the Whitney Plantation Tour plus the Airboat Swamp Tour with Crescent City Tours, and while I won’t go too deep into wether you should pick between Whitney and Oak Alley (that’s a personal decision), I will say that having visited both, I found Whitney to be the more raw and honest portrayal of plantation life.
But this review is really about the tour company—and more specifically, about Brian, our bus driver and guide. Brian exudes true Southern hospitality, the kind that makes you feel instantly at ease. His warmth is infectious, and his storytelling skills are unmatched. The hour-long drive to the plantation flew by as he shared fascinating history, and he even joked that “real tour guides don’t need a radio to fill the silence.” Let me assure you: Brian does NOT need a radio.
Just so that you are aware, unless you pick a private tour option, you will be picking up other people along the way at their hotels as well. It’s really not a big deal though because the French Quarter is so close together, that it’s no more than a two minute drive to the next stop. Also, while I personally love a self guided tour because I’m able to go at my own pace, in case you don’t, just know that once you get to the Whitney plantation, it is a self-guided audio tour.
No matter what your plans are in New Orleans, make sure they include a tour with Brian at Crescent City Tours. You won’t regret it!

Wonderful Day Trip! - We had a great day visiting the Whitney Plantation and doing the Swamp Tpur through Ragin' Cajun. Brian was a tour guide and did a great job driving us safely through a heavy thunderstorm. There was heavy rain at the plantation but it was still a very powerful experience.
Dylan was our airboat caption. We had a very close encounter with Scarface. It was a fabulous experience.

Tour was... - Tour was fantastic--highly recommend! Husband and I were picked up around 8:20 in a big grey van by Brian, who was an absolute riot. He told stories, jokes and shared information about New Orleans's unique history and infrastructure as he drove us to the plantation. We learned about the new and improved levees and some interesting sights along the way. We had about two hours at Whitney to take the audio tour and explore the grounds. The plantation is focused on the lives of those who were enslaved, and it is very well done. Brian picked us up and pointed out filming locations on our way to Oak Alley, where we stopped for a quick half hour lunch and a peek at the famous house. He then dropped us off at Ragin' Cajun Swamp Tours, where we and other tour groups were assigned to different airboats. Despite the cold, our guide found quite a few alligators. As an experienced alligator hunter himself, he told us all about alligator behavior, the hunting lottery, the names and stories behind specific alligators we saw, why he doesn't feed them when it's cold out, the history of Spanish moss (more interesting than you might think!) and answered the many questions posed by our group. The boat ride was fast and smooth--lots of fun! From there, Brian picked us back up and continued sharing his knowledge and love of New Orleans, its culture and inhabitants, all the way back to our hotel dropoff. It was a great way to spend a day!

Nice History Lesson - The self-guided tour audio did a nice job providing information and history. While the interviews were a great addition, many were too hard to hear or understand, unfortunately.
