- Lawrence’s Spring - Upon arrival, visitors can witness a natural spring utilized by both animals and Bedouins for fresh water. This spot is popular among camels. Visitors can follow the pipe up the mountain to reach a few fig trees, offering a stunning view of the spring and the surrounding desert. Note that this climb is challenging. Although ascending may seem easier, descending is more difficult. Both hands and feet are needed for hiking and climbing the rocks. It’s advisable to ask a guide for the best route up and down.
- Jebel Khazali - A brief hike inside the canyon reveals ancient inscriptions on both sides. Visitors can venture further inside, but the path becomes narrower and more challenging to hike and climb.
- Wadi Rum Protected Area - Drive through the area where “Lawrence of Arabia” was filmed en route to the Sand Dune with a 360-degree view.
Visitors can hike up the sand dune to the rocky outcrop, followed by a short, easy climb to the top. From there, a 360-degree view of the red desert is available.
For those interested, a board can be brought along to slide down the sand dune, or one can be rented from a nearby tent for 5 JOD.
Opposite the sand dune is the filming location of “The Martian.”
- Little Bridge - A naturally formed rock bridge that can be climbed. It’s a short climb but requires the use of hands and feet.
- Lawrence’s House - Visit the house where Lawrence of Arabia resided. A hike and climb offer a view here. It’s a relatively short climb with a moderate ascent near the top.
- Um Frouth Rock Arch - Drive through the filming location of “Aladdin” on the way to Um Frouth Bridge.
This is a medium-sized natural bridge that can be climbed. It involves a moderate climb and descent.
Finally, continue to a prime location for a sunset view over the White Desert.
The best view requires a moderate climb, but the view from smaller rocks is also spectacular.
- Burrah Canyon - A 30-minute hike with a short, moderate climb in the middle through the canyon. It’s one of the most breathtaking places in the desert. Visitors are dropped off at the canyon’s entrance, and the jeep waits at the end.
- Mushroom Rock - Drive through the filming location of “Star Wars IX – The Rise of Skywalker” on the way to Mushroom Rock.
Witness the geographical marvel of the mushroom rock. Visitors can enjoy traditional Bedouin music while sipping tea next to the rock, when available.
