We start by walking on the main trail (Distance: 4km ) , the trail starts from the visitor center of Petra through The siq to The Treasury , climbing up a mountain to see the theater from the top like Birds eye view , then will see The royal tombs, The colonnaded street, and finally The Dushara Palace (Qasr Al Bint) ,
The expected time to finish this trail is usually 3 hours , but time may varies on how fast you may walk but minimum of 2.5 hours .
Climbing up to the Monastery isn’t included , but may be discussed by the end of the tour .

Great guide, support informative, a must to understand Petra's magic - I am not sure how anyone can tour Petra without a guide. Our guide, Bassil, pointed out things we never would have seen without him. He explained the significance of each artifact, took wonderful pictures of our family and made sure we understood the history of this magical place. His English was excellent and I would highly recommend this tour and guide.

Petra is a must see! - This tour was amazing. Ibrahim picked us up from our hotel after suggesting an earlier start. He wanted to ensure we saw Petra at the perfect time. He was informative, funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. We also liked how he let us have some free time and then made suggestions for the rest of our day after he left us. We felt safe and very comfortable, and loved our time exploring Petra. Don't let the headlines dissuade you from traveling to Jordan. The land, the culture, the sites, the food, and the people are truly exceptional.

Our visit to Petra, Jordan - We ticked a big one off our bucket list today, with a tour of Petra. Our guide, Bassil, was informative, friendly, and extremely helpful. He showed us the best spots for photos while giving us the history of the site. He even helped my husband pay his speeding ticket😆. (Don't speed in Jordan, lol)
Petra did not disappoint. We got the two day ticket. We are going back tomorrow. Bassil explained the process on how to get in from the other side to see the monastery. We feel confident that we will be to do it on our own.
Jordan has been a lovely experience and Petra a real cherry on top.

The BEST tour guide in Petra - Wow!! This was the most unreal experience I have ever had! Bassil, I cannot thank enough for the most amazing morning in Petra.
Bassil has so much knowledge & knows all the best spots for photos that other people will not know about, he also takes great pictures!
If you go to Petra, book with Bassil, you will not regret this trip!! Petra and its people are so kind, what a beautiful place. Thank you

Magical Petra - La experiencia fue y será inolvidable: Nos acompañó Basel, un guÃa amabilÃsimo y experimentado, siempre con información interesante y veraz de cada rincón del tour por Petra.
Petra es simplemente impresionante y es también el broche final de estas vacaciones por un paÃs seguro, de gente amable y atenta, fiable, siempre dispuesta ayudar.
The experience was and will be unforgettable: We were accompanied by Basel, a very kind and experienced guide, always with interesting and truthful information from every corner of the tour through Petra.
Petra is simply impressive and is also the final touch of this vacation in a safe country, of friendly and attentive people, reliable, always willing to help.

Must Have Guide for Petra! - I don’t leave reviews often but this was truly an amazing experience. 10 stars. Bassil is incredibly knowledgeable, he’s been doing this for 18 years. He really does know the ins and outs of everything, will really explain exactly what you’re looking at and answer any questions. Bassil was also very helpful in sharing what actual prices for souvenirs should be and giving a balanced viewpoint to help take the guesswork out of everything. And an amazing photographer too! I’ve had a lot of guides across 70 countries and Bassil is one of the very best.
Petra has unfortunately been very quiet since the regional war but it was truly amazing to wander the whole area without any crowds. And as Americans we felt very safe and welcomed the entire time. Strongly recommend coming to Jordan and 100% doing Petra with Bassil, it’s a must!

Awe inspiring & amazing - Please book Bassil. We’ve done many guided tours but never have we had such a personal experience as one with Bassil. Such a great mix between educational/informative while also providing modern insight into the culture of the region and Jordan. He seemed very pleasant with all the Bedouin people along the way. He also gave great detail on what we could do after our tour ended, a reminder that Petra is not just the treasury! There are many hiking paths that you can take.
Jordan is safe. Please go.

A trip of a lifetime! Go back 5000 years in time. - What an amazing tour!! I had limited time to see Petra and Bassil made sure I saw the best of Petra. He included some of his own secret spots and took great pictures of me too. I would recommend Jordan, Petra and Bassil to anyone. Jordan is safe and has amazing history to see.

Amazing experience! - We had a great time in this tour with Shadi, despite my wife wasn’t feeling well he did everything to accommodate us, he personalized the tour for us. He is very knowledgeable and will take you to hiding places of Petra and take the most amazing pictures. For us coming from US in November 2024 we felt really safe every place we visit. We recommend Shadi and his amazing tour 100%.
