Highlights
  • The Blue Eye - Albania’s renowned Blue Eye (Syri i kaltër) is a natural spring and phenomenon that every visitor should experience. A well-known tourist spot, the stunning light turquoise river captivates with its beauty. You’ll first be charmed by the dense forest and the beautiful light blue river flowing through this natural haven. The Blue Eye is situated beneath a small metal balcony built for a closer view. This water spring features extremely light blue water bubbling in a pool over 50 meters deep. The water is so clear that you can see straight to the bottom. Divers have tried to measure the Blue Eye’s depth, but its true depth remains a mystery. (A 30-minute walk is required to reach the destination, so bring a bottle of water.)
  • Kalaja e Lëkurësit - When in Saranda, a visit to Lëkursi Castle is a must. This fortress, dating back to the 16th century, features a square layout with two round towers positioned diagonally. Its strategic location on a 300-meter-high hill offers picturesque views of Saranda, the Butrint Lagoon, and even the island of Corfu, making it a favorite among tourists. Inside the fortress, you’ll find one of Saranda’s most famous bars and restaurants, which also offers a stunning sunset view.
  • Butrint National Park - Butrint is a significant UNESCO site in Albania and a popular destination. It’s one of the largest and most impressive places to visit during your holiday in Albania. If you’re staying in Saranda or even closer in Ksamil, you can’t leave without stopping here! In Butrint National Park, you’ll find well-preserved ancient structures, including the Butrint theatre, which seats over 2500 people and is still occasionally used for events. There’s also the Temple of Asclepius, an Acropolis, columns, a beautiful floor mosaic (featuring medallions of 69 churches), a 6th-century basilica, Lions Gate, and even a castle. These ruins offer incredible views of Lake Butrint, Butrint beach, and the surrounding area. As you explore Butrint National Park, you’ll notice that some buildings are still buried underground. Some locals believe Butrint might be the sunken city of Atlantis.
  • Ksamil - The Ksamil Islands are considered the jewels of the Albanian Riviera. These four small islands off the coast of Saranda, Albania, are pristine, with crystal-clear waters and beautiful sandy beaches. The vibrant waters are surrounded by lush greenery, creating a tranquil and visually soothing atmosphere. Accessible by boat, the islands are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and more, making them a must-visit for a relaxing getaway.

Additional Information

The journey begins in the morning from your designated pick up spot (be it hotel, port etc). We then depart from Ksamil to our first stop, Butrint. The Butrint National Park, acclaimed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a popular archaeological park in the southern part of Albania and is the region’s top tourist attraction. This guide provides all necessary information you require prior to visiting Butrint.

Upon return to the city, we will briefly visit the Lekursi Castle for about 30 min. Erected by Sultan Suleiman the Great, it offers a panoramic 360-degree view of the surrounding areas, including, a large island (Corfu), a city (Saranda), and a lake (Lake Butrinti).

This is followed by an enchanting trip to the Blue Eye natural spring. Tucked away between the mountains, it boasts a spectacular view of crystalline water, the depth of which remains undiscovered. (Please note, a 20-minute walk is necessary to reach this destination)

Highly recommended! - Klajdi was a great tour guide! Everything in the tour was exactly as advertised. We loved how easy going and knowledgeable he was. He accommodated what we to do wanted to do such as walking instead of taking the train to the Blue Eye and making an unplanned stop for water along the way. Highly recommend if visiting Sarande!

Corfu to Saranda, Albania: There and back with Klajdi Lici "Visit Saranda" - Klajdi (pronounced: KL-Heidi) has amazing pre-tour communication! This is his city and his pride is effervescent! His English is good. His ability to tailor the tour to your needs is awesome! He’ll help you arrange the logistics and timing of the fast ferry if you are coming from Corfu, Greece (remember Greece is 1 hour ahead). Albania is safe.

Beautiful Stops, Easy Communication, well done - Klajdi did nice job and we appreciated learning so much about Saranda and Albania. He was waiting for us when we got off the ferry- super easy 2 blocks away and was easy to find. Great communicator on all the details on Viator. Took lots of pictures for my family at Blue Eye and other stops and we really enjoyed the day. Made amazing restaurant recommendation and dropped us off at restaurant 2 blocks from ferry home and it was spot on. Car could have used a clean out but it was fine for the day and we were really pleased with the tour

Perfect day tour of Sarande with Klajdi - We had such a fun day exploring Sarande with Klajdi on a 4-person private tour. He took us to the Blue Eye first to beat the crowds and the heat and then the castle and Butrint. We also appreciate him meeting us when we got off the ferry from Corfu.

Interesting day - All three stops were beautiful. Tour Guide was more or less just a driver, he didn't explain much. Communication skills made us understand something different from what he said at the Blue eye and we ended up taking a 30 min walk thru the woods by ourselves around the lake and then waiting at his car for 30 min until he got there. He was waiting for us at the Blue eye. We all say he shouldn't of left us and the incident wouldn't of happened. The 3 stops were worth the visit though.

Beautiful place wit bad service - The small car the company sent to accommodate 4pp. Not a lot of explanations either. Felt was tons of money compared to what we got.
