Built by the Transylvanian Saxons and first recorded in 1324, Rupea Fortress majestically sits atop a 120-meter-high basalt cliff west of Rupea town. This medieval fortress played a crucial strategic role in the 14th century, acting as a key link between Transylvania, Moldavia, and Wallachia. After visiting Rupea Fortress, the tour concludes with a one-hour drive back to your hotel in Brasov.

Great trip in transylvania - romania - We had magnificent trip with ADRIAN to the landscape of trandylvania. He took us to very special places of the map. the trip was the top of the vacation in ronenia.
We ended the trip at his restaurant at RASNOV . , La promenada. look it up

Amazing! Saw a lot and learned a lot! - This tour was so great! I love that it was private- as in just my husband and myself with our guide, Adrian! It was a long day but so worth it. Adrian is so knowledgeable, and it’s impressive how much information he shared with us off the top of his head. We had great weather the day we went, so the views we had from up top at each of our stops were spectacular. Our guide was very personable, and when he wasn’t sharing historical information, we engaged in great conversations throughout the day, which made it even better- as if we were spending the day with a new friend who was showing us around a country we had never visited before. We also had a great lunch all together in the afternoon, so that was a nice break. My husband and I are so fascinated with Romania, and even more so now and can’t wait to go back and see/learn more!

A truly memorable Transylvania experience - Adrian’s depth of knowledge and love of his country’s history made this a truly memorable experience. My wife and I have been on many group tours which just can’t compare to the personalization Adrian was able to accommodate us with since this was a very specialized “private” tour. We visited 3 historical sites, one of which is a UNESCO site, and when taken together they really explained the history of Transylvania and its importance on the world stage and enormous global events that continue to shape our common history.

Fantastic Guide - My wife and I booked a 4-day bespoke trip with Adrian visiting various sites around Transylvania, plus a trip to see the bears in the wild near Brasov, which was an amazing experience. We organised all our trips via email.
Adrian is a fantastic guide with so much knowledge and such enthusiasm and passion for Romania, he went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience. Adrian is a fun guy to be around, we enjoyed our time with him and we had great conversations about various topics. We really enjoyed visiting the fortified churches of Viscri, Prejmer, Harman and Biertan to name a few. Adrian took us to his family restaurant where we tried the local cuisine which was excellent. If you are planning a visit to Transylvania we would highly recommend using Adrian as your tour guide.

Wonderful and Knowledgeable Private Tour - What an incredible experience! Adrian was extremely knowledgeable and most importantly friendly and easy to get along with. My family and I were able to visit these beautiful heritage sites in comfort without leaving a stone unturned on each site’s rich history.
I will note that we did arrive in Braşov with a different tour company that did have an option to explore these sites with the rest of the large group. I am so thankful we chose to break off and have a special experience with a fantastic guide like Adrian.
I would recommend using Wise Transylvania Tours for anyone wanting to explore more of Transylvania!

Visit to Sighisiora - The tour was only to Sighisoara. Because it was private, we decided not to go to Viscri and Our guide accommodated the visit according to our request. This is a very well preserved walled city with plenty of colorful buildings and interesting sites. Still standing 9 of the original defensive towers, in great state. It has come to my attention that tour guides in Romania, like in no other place, are excellent historians, with an intense passion for their country showing in their explanations. Adrian is one of them. I’m really thankful for the details, the recommendations and the services he provides. Without hesitation, recommended.
