Unique experience for tourists and locals! - Amazing experience, whether or not you’re a tourist or a local looking for something fun and unique to do by the Oceanfront :-) Booked about a 2 hour stand up paddle experience with Randy for me and my boyfriend! We were pretty nervous but he made us comfortable with great conversation! Kept us engaged and there were enough breaks~ he knew a lot about birds and made great jokes hahaha. He took lots of photos and we even did yoga on the paddle boards! Thank you again! We’ll come again next year :-)

Don't go paddleboarding with anyone but Randy! - I've been wanting to go SUP for YEARS and finally got the chance with some friends. It was an AH-MAZING experience. Randy is phenomenal - we were all first-timers and he had us comfortable enough to do yoga poses (for the pics of course!) and even had us venture out into the ocean waves a bit. Hands down the best part was seeing the Rudee Inlet manatee - bucket list item/dream come true. I can't recommend Randy enough, will definitely book another session with him next time I'm in the VA Beach area.

Family Experience of a Lifetime! - I’ve lived in Virginia Beach for 30 years, so when we decided to have our family reunion here this summer, I knew that Rudee Inlet Stand Up Paddle would have to be a part of that. Randy helped to make our reunion even more memorable with our stand-up paddle boarding experience. We had a group of 5 adults and two children (ages 7 and 11). Only one of us had been on a paddle board before, and that was fifteen years ago. Once we scheduled our 90-minute session on the website (which was clear and simple), he communicated via text. Randy met us in the parking lot near Big Sam’s and was immediately a hit with my niece and nephew, giving them each a RIS’UP T-shirt. He, then, gave us all a quick tutorial, and we were on our way. Since my nephew was only seven, he would have to ride with Randy, but that wasn’t an issue at all. Safety first. I was impressed with how effectively he was able to teach my niece—and other adults—how to maneuver on their boards. We signed up for the flatwater session, and were on our way out the Rudee Inlet channel over to Lake Wesley, near Croatan Beach. While there, Randy orchestrated a quick yoga session with everyone; soon after, he asked if we felt confident enough to venture out into the ocean for a bit to see if we could spot any dolphins nearby. We did and were fortunate enough to see one swim fairly close to us. Randy also stopped near a reef full of pelicans to look for hermit crabs for my niece and nephew as well. Before we returned, we paddled back to Lake Wesley, and Randy took pics and video of us jumping off our boards. During our entire time out on the water, Randy took over 200 pictures and video clips of our family and airdropped them to us when we returned (It’s a bit quicker with an iPhone, but others will work too). Some of the best photos from our family reunion are of us out on the water on a picturesque August morning, and my family will have wonderful memories to last a lifetime. It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re having a blast; Randy was kind enough to extend our session to nearly two hours at no additional cost. I would highly recommend Rudee Inlet Stand Up Paddle for visitors and locals as well.

A Morning paddle with the Dolphins ... - We recommend the early morning (7:30) leave time for ocean trips (not our first trip out on the ocean w/ Randy). Better chance of dolphins and rays and less boats out at that time in the morning. This trip we got a message to hold off until 8:00 to let the weather roll though (daughter took that to heart and got another 20 minutes of sleep). Randy is always on top of the weather, wind, waves and anything else that may affect your adventure. Dolphins were abundant near the inlet, so this trip out the family stayed relatively close to the inlet / shoreline. (A previous trip had my family about 3/4 of a mile out to sea.) The expression on my wife's face when a dolphin crested and cleared it's blow hole about 10 feet in front of her was the highlight of the session. Several dolphins within just a few feet of everyone at multiple points while out paddling. Throw in a little yoga session on the boards and a beautiful sunny morning and it was an amazing ride. It's a highlight of our trip every time we make it to Virginia Beach. We can't wait until next time.
