Captain George is a legend - Captain George was the highlight of our entire trip to New Orleans. Seeing gators, garfish, catfish, the camps, etc was awesome, but hearing Captain George’s endless stores was the best part. Highly recommend this excursion.

Great tour! - George and his wife were fun, friendly, and informative. A huge bonus for us was his personal experiences during Katrina, and the experience of people who live in the area and love the bayou and swamp (there IS a difference), alligators, and how land leases work for the camps. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing tour and George goes above and beyond to make people happy and show you all he can! - This was an absolutely amazing tour! George is your tour guide he is so passionate about making sure you see everything that is out and about in the bayou and swamps during your tour that he can. He loves to please everyone and goes above and beyond to welcome you and make you feel comfortable. He has many stories to tell and welcomes any questions you have. It is a beautiful boat ride and George knows all the local people! He even brought us to see his beautiful camp him and his dad built together. That was such a special place and we were honored to see it! George has such a big heart he sent a special gift with my husband who is an elementary teacher to share with his students. Most of these students don’t get to travel, so they will be so excited to be able share in a memory of Louisiana. Georgie’s wife runs the bar that serves food next to the docks. When we got back we had some delicious food that she served us. If you don’t book this tour you are missing out!

Book This One! Best Tour with a Popular Local man that goes above and beyond to make sure you have a fabulous time! - This was an absolutely amazing tour! George is very passionate about making sure you have an amazing time and seeing everything that is out and about that day in the swamps and bayous. He goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable keeping things relaxed, so you may ask any questions you want and he has many stories to tell about the area. George knows all the local people, so you may meet some new friends if you wish. George also took us to his beautiful swamp camp that him and his father built together. That was such a special place to see. He also donated something amazing to my husband’s classroom that his classroom kids will be so excited to see! Many of his classroom kids don’t get to travel they will be so excited to see this! Goerge’s wife runs the bar and restaurant where you got on the boat. We had some delicious food after we got back from our tour. She was very kind and friendly too! I can’t recommend this tour enough!!

Best Bayous Tour! - We did the Cajun encounter honey swamp tour and this Happiness Bayou tour and this one was hands down the better tour! They other was packed and scripted. Whereas this tour was 7 people and there was nothing scripted about George :) his wife Sam was also very friendly and fun! We had a great time!

Super fun birthday party experience - We went on the boat tour with a large group of friends for a birthday party and Captain George was wildly entertaining and knowledgeable about the critters and denizens of the surrounding waterways. The tour was about 2 hours with a pit stop in the middle at his awesome cabin. When we returned, we had boiled crawfish and crabs, boudin balls, spinach dip and crab cakes, all prepared by his lovely wife, Samantha and Linda (also the bartender). The food was so good, I had to take home some white beans and crab cakes! Just a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Da Pope Bar was a great place to gather and just hang out with the locals. Great prices, too!

Great experience - Captain George was great fun. The tour of the bayou and canals was great too. We stopped back into the bar and met a group of great locals. Had some mushrooms, crabcake and jalapeno poppers a couple of cocktails and few laughs.

Real reflection of the bayou. - We enjoyed our excursion with Captain George. Informative, fun and an adventure. It gave a good picture of life in and with the bayou. Amazingly resilient folks. Loved seeing the alligators and birds.
