Meet the people behind France's most underrated wine region - My wife and I had an amazing time exploring our favorite wine region. Al did a great job of currating the trip to our needs and arranged a meeting with a win maker we'd requested. A must do if you are in Macon or Lyon.

Brilliant tour, gracious and friendly guide, a perfect day - An absolutely perfect day! Our guide and new friend, Aldric, introduced us to several areas in Beaujolais, while sharing with us stories of the land and history of winemaking in the area. We visited with a winemaking family and shared a picnic and a lovely glass of wine with them, as they described their wine and the process of making it. We toured vineyards, and even a castle, where we also enjoyed a delicious glass of wine made on the estate. An unforgettable experience, thank you, Aldric!

1962 Defender Ride at Beaujolais - Although the weather was rather cold and foggy, our guide Alexandre, made it warm and interesting. All our stops were fantastic, including a country side delightful lunch! Beaujolais wines were great as expected.

Local experts! - What an incredible experience! Our guide, Amelie, was so knowledgeable about the winemaking process in the Beaujolais. With her, we were able to see how a number of wineries in the area operate, and more importantly, try their wine! Nothing but great things to say about our day.

Amazing day in Beaujolais with Insiders Experience! - Insiders Experience was one of the most exceptional tours we have encountered. Having traveled the world we have taken many tours. I found Insiders Experience on trip advisor, but the tour listed there didn’t quite suit me – so I reached out directly, and Thomas responded quickly with a recommendation that was perfect. We personalized the Full Monty: Beaujolais Full day tour. A few days ahead Amelie, our tour guide, reached out to get our restaurant preferences to ensure we had a good lunch experience – which we absolutely did. She was an amazing guide having grown up in the region and seeming knowing everyone. After taking us for scenic views of the valley sprayed with grapes colored in red, yellow, and green as the fall weather approached, and some special places she pointed out, we stopped in a town for a coffee. There she picked up some meat and we all went and selected local cheeses from a cheese store for our pairings. Our French is rudimentary, and Amelie was so great at keeping us included in the conversations wherever we went. She even let us practice our French with her. The cheese was amazing – hint always chose the free-range goat cheese. We were now armed to visit the vintners. We have done wine tours in California, Australia, New Zealand and now in France and this was by far the best wine tour. We went to multiple Crus in the Beaujolais region and learned how the soil and stone made each of the areas different providing different flavoring to the grapes. The diversity was amazing for such a small geographic region. It wasn’t just a tour guide talking and pointing at the vats and barrels and then headed to a crowded tasting room. It was just us and we tasted wine in all stages of the process: we listened to it fermenting in the barrels, saw the skins as they separate from the juices, and learned how hard a harvest season is for the small wine makers. Meeting and talking to the actual vintners whose families have been doing it for many generations and those who have come to the business recently to do what they love, made it so special. Excellent Tour Guide, Excellent Tour, and Excellent Company.

A True Insider Experience in Beaujolais - Insiders made me feel like a local and experiencing the region as if I lived there. My guide was Alex and I loved the flexibility. Felt less like a tour and more like a day in the life of the Beaujolais countryside. Got to try all the local cheese and charcuterie and sit down for a chat and wine tasting with Antoine, a 5th generation winemaker. I learned a ton but also had a great time connecting. The lunch at the cute restaurant was one of the best meals I had in France. (Next time would love to do the BBQ in the vineyard we talked about) Fun drive the whole time with awesome viewpoints and cute stops like old small churches along the way. Also super convenient pick up and drop off in Lyon. 10/10 Thanks again!
