Beautiful Hike - Had an exhilarating trek with an amazing guide Camile! She was so knowledgeable about the various trails, took us at our own pace and challenged us with some fairly rugged terrain. We are both 58 and hike a lot in the mountains of Colorado and would rate some of the paths as moderate and some as difficult due to climbing over rocks and some steep inclines. The views were great and the waterfalls beautiful. Our guide couldn’t have been better!!

BOOK IT! - We did the full-day family outing with my children aged 7, 12 and 13. At their request, I take a moment to leave our review and our 5 stars.
A day before the tour, we were joined by a WhatsApp group with the guide Camilly and another participant, where they reminded us of the preparations, the schedule and the meeting point.
From our accommodation in the center of Foz we took an Uber and arrived in less than 10 minutes. The first half hour was spent signing consents, equipping ourselves with a helmet and safety vest, and receiving Camilly’s explanation of the tour.
We leave in the company car, similar in size to the tourist taxis in the area (maximum 8 people). In 15 minutes we reach the first trail, where we walk surrounded by the lush Amazon rainforest and find small waterfalls along the way. Camilly made the tour even more interesting by telling us about the trees, flowers and seeds that made the waterfalls foamy and soapy in texture. The boys kept pace smoothly and enjoyed each waterfall, which increased in flow as we went.
About 10:30 we finish the first trail and drive to the next one, about 15 minutes away. In this part we wore vests because the waterfalls had deeper waters. It was certainly the best leg of the morning. On the way back to the car, the youngest of my children felt tired, especially since in one section of the trail there were ants that took advantage of every step to climb and sting us.
It was lunchtime and, on the way to the base, our excursion partner (from Canada) got off near his inn, as he had booked only the half day. At the base we were surprised by the lunch buffet. We didn’t know if the food was really a 10 or if post-trail hunger influenced, but my kids insisted I leave 5 stars at lunch!
After lunch, we relaxed a few minutes in the Paraguayan hammocks next to the restaurant, where we even took a small nap. At 13:30 we set off for new trails.
We parked in front of a luxury condo under construction. Machinery and laborers were at work, and the entrance to the trail was clogged by remains of trees and plants. Camilly found an alternative access and we were able to continue. During the first 10 minutes of walking, we passed a road with a brick wall on one side and the jungle on the other, which generated a chat with the boys about the contrast between urbanization and nature.
It started to drizzle and the post-lunch downhill made us hesitant to follow or not, but Camilly managed to distract us with more teachings about the trees and we got on the trail. The first waterfall was much higher and different from the morning, which made us confirm that it was worth continuing. Then we came to an area with mini pools on the edge of a cliff (not suitable for people with vertigo!), but which my children loved.
The trail had steep descents and, with the drizzle, the terrain was more slippery. Camilly accompanied us at all times. Finally, we reached the Paraná River, where we got into the rain with vests and a beautiful waterfall. Getting the boys out of the water was difficult because they were fascinated: swimming under the waterfall, the water temperature, the green landscape around, floating upside down and getting carried away with the current was an unforgettable experience.
The climb was easier than the descent and, until the last moment in the car, Camilly kept teaching us about the vegetation. He showed us plants that give water in emergencies, hollow plants where ants live, and we tasted fruits that we didn't know existed.
Back, Camilly dropped us off at our Airbnb. My children were very fond of her and at night they commented on how amazing the excursion had been with her.
The final surprise came when I checked my phone and saw the photos and videos it took: GOD level! This girl is talented at many things.
I leave my comment because they really deserve it, although I am a little afraid that this very personalized adventure will become as famous and we end up lining up en masse as on the trails of the Falls.
Congratulations to the team and a giant hug to Camilly! We're gonna miss you!
