• Douro River - On this tour, you’ll get to explore the most iconic areas of both cities from the water. Highlights include the Wine Caves, Ouro Street, Clerics Church, the Rabelo Boats (which transported wine barrels from the north), and the Douro Estuary, a protected wildlife area.

• Douro Marina - Opened in February 2012, Douro Marina represents an 8.5 million euro investment, with 2.5 million allocated to floating equipment. The marina can accommodate 300 vessels up to 20 meters long and features boat repair and maintenance areas, shops, restaurants, and water sports companies.

• Centro Interpretativo do Patrimonio da Afurada - Located near the mouth of the Douro River, Afurada is home to 6,500 residents, many of whom are involved in fishing, the area’s primary economic activity.

• Ponte da Arrabida - The Arrábida Bridge is an arch bridge over the Douro River connecting Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia. Built in 1963, it had the world’s largest reinforced concrete arch at the time. It was the second bridge built for road traffic between Porto and V. N. Gaia and is one of six bridges in Porto. The bridge was inaugurated on June 22, 1963, with four lifts for pedestrians, although these stopped working in the mid-1990s.

• Museu do Carro Electrico - Founded in 1992, the Tram Museum showcases a large collection of historic electric cars and vehicles. Located in the former Massarelos Thermoelectric Plant, built in 1915, the museum offers a glimpse into the history of public rail transport in Porto. The tram’s interior remains true to its early 20th-century design, featuring wood and iron. Visitors can ride Line 1 to enjoy scenic views of Porto.

• Igreja da Confraria das Almas do Corpo Santo de Massarelos - Built in 1776, this church features a central gate with a broken pediment, a niche with a statue of the patron saint S. Pedro Gonçalves Telmo, and two columns with Corinthian capitals. The facade is adorned with tiles, and the bell towers are topped with iron crosses.

• Alfandega Porto Congress Centre - Designed by French architect Jean Colson in the late 19th century, the New Customs building reflects Porto’s mercantile dynamism. The building features a mix of iron, stone, small bricks, and wood. It is one of the largest and most awarded congress centers in Portugal.

• Passeio das Virtudes - The Virtudes Municipal Park, once the “Companhia Hortícola Portuense,” was designed by José Marques Loureiro and renovated in 1998. The vertical garden offers unique views of the Alfândega, the Douro River, and Vila Nova de Gaia. The gardens were inspired by the Crystal Palace in London and designed by Emil David.

• Torre dos Clerigos - Designed by Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, the Clérigos Tower stands over 75 meters tall and was completed in 1763. Originally a bell tower, it has also served as a navigation point and military lookout. Visitors can climb 225 steps to enjoy panoramic views of Porto and Gaia.

• Cais De Gaia - The Vila Nova de Gaia waterfront has been a key shipyard and trading post since the 18th century, especially for Port Wine. The area underwent a major refurbishment in 2003, enhancing its appeal for leisure and tourism. It is home to around 30 wine cellars offering guided tours and tastings.

• Barcos rabelos - Rabelo boats, unique to the Douro River, transported Port Wine from the remote wine region to Vila Nova de Gaia. Before roads and railways, these boats navigated the treacherous Douro River, requiring skilled sailors. The last voyage for wine transport was in 1964.

• Ribeira Square - One of Porto’s oldest and most popular areas, Ribeira Square is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its commerce and proximity to the river, it was home to the heroic Ribeira’s Duque, who saved many from drowning. A memorial stone honors him near the Luís I Bridge.

• Jardim do Morro - Located by the upper deck of Luís I bridge, Morro Garden features green spaces, a playground, an open-air auditorium, and a belvedere with panoramic views of Porto and the Douro River.

• Serra do Pilar Viewpoint - The Serra do Pilar Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, features a unique circular church and cloister. It played a crucial role during the Napoleonic invasions and the liberal struggles of the 19th century. Now a military barracks, it offers stunning views of Porto.

• Ponte de Dom Luis I - The Luís I bridge, designed by Théophile Seyrig, connects Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. Completed in 1888, the metal bridge spans 395 meters and features two decks. It remains one of Porto’s most iconic landmarks.

• Reserva Natural Estuario do Douro - Covering 66.35 hectares, this nature reserve on the south bank of the Douro River mouth is a haven for birds and part of the “East Atlantic Route” migratory corridor. Visitors can explore via a suspended walkway.

• Jardim do Passeio Alegre - Designed in the late 19th century by Émile David, this garden features century-old trees, a granite fountain by Nicolau Nasoni, and a bandstand. Visitors can enjoy the confluence of the Douro River and the Atlantic Ocean.

During this two-hour journey, enjoy the chance to see numerous monuments and landmarks of both cities from one of our 15-meter sailboats or catamarans, accommodating 12, 16, or 18 passengers.
