Went beyond - My husband got injured but not their fault. Peter, our guide was most caring and gentle. Even assisted him to walk. Further offered to drive us to the clinic. Shout out to Paul from New Jersey, USA who was also kind to us.

The Katla Ice Cave... - The Katla Ice Cave excursion was an amazing adventure into Iceland’s icy architecture. The journey started with a thrilling super jeep ride through black sand plains, followed by a short hike to the cave entrance. Walking through the cave is amazing to see the layers of black volcanic ash and bright blue ice which creates an almost surreal landscape.

Lava fields and Ice Cave wonder - A great day out across the lava fields to the ice cave. Our guide Eric was so positive, upbeat and knowledgeable that it would have been hard not to appreciate the tour! Eric explained so many things about the area as we traveled toward the glacier that the trip seemed quite short! The walk up and into the ice cave was other-worldly - a truly wonderful experience!

Good once we found our guide! - The tour itself was very nice. I gave it 4 stars because finding the tour company when we reached Vik was VERY confusing. We asked multiple people and everyone told us somewhere different!!!

Great experience and lots of info from the guide - Lots of info and great guide! The jeep ride over was about 45 min ea way. Time for hike up the glacier was the longest and about 10 min in the cave. Wish time in cave was longer but overall a great experience!

Ice Cave Trip Was Fun BuT The Cave Itself Is Not Huge - The drive there was the highlight for me with a stop on the black sand that made you feel like you were on another planet. They provide you with a helmet and crampons for your feet. The hike up was fun with a few stops to educate about the glaciers and try some glacial ice. The guide was fun and outgoing and was able to share a lot about Iceland as well when prompted. I will say the ice cave was small. There was a main entrance and then a side part to it. A part of it could be water changes all the time but you don’t go too far in so don’t think you’re going on a far adventure. For the price we paid, we wished there was more to the caves. That was our only wish.
