- Katla Ice Cave - The view inside the Ice Cave is truly spectacular the combination of the colors of the ice, you will get the chance to see some amazing black ice as well as some blue ice features. The Katla Ice Cave is truly unique. The ice cave is located in Kötlujökull Glacier which is an outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull Glacier. Underneath the glacier waits the mighty volcano Katla where the both the glacier and the ice cave takes their name from.
The tour departs from the village of Vík where you will hop on a Super Jeep that takes you up to the ice cave. There you will put on crampons and a helmet to prepare you to walk inside the natural ice cave. Your expert guide will inform you all about the glacier and how the ice cave is formed by mother nature.
- The Meeting point is at the parking lot of The Soup Company restaurant in Vík.
- Driving time to Vík from Reykjavík is around 2 hours and 30 minutes in good road conditions. Please note that if you arrive after departure time, your place on the tour can’t be guaranteed or refunded.

Awesome! - This was a great helicopter ride over active craters and fissures. Our pilot was great! Would definitely recommend.

Incredible Life Experience - We went on one of the coldest days right after a snow storm, I was hesitant to take my family but we went and I couldn't be happier. It took a while to get out to the hiking site. The driver and super jeep put in some work. We got stuck 2-3 times but each time the driver (Brian?) took his time and got us moving again. The experience itself was amazing. It is hard to even describe the caves and ice - you have to see it. We were lucky to see an arctic fox while we were there. Really just an incredible life experience.
2 hints - 1. This is not in Reykavik. this is in Vik which is 2.5 hours away. We didn't realize that until the day before. 2. The meeting place is in a hotel but it is very rustic and there is not really any food options at the hotel. Eat before the meeting point.

Must Do in Iceland - This is a must do experience while in Iceland! The drive out to the caves in the Super Vans was so fun. Our guide, Jake, was the best! He was very knowledgeable about the formation of the caves. Crampons were provided and that was very helpful for traction while hiking the glacier. We would definitely do this again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Breathtaking Experience! - Katla glacier tour was nothing short of magical! I have been visiting Iceland many times and never like this time I felt like I was in another world. Our guides Stephan and Pablo were incredibly knowledgeable, explaining everything from the history of the glacier and its unique features to the tales of Icelandic folklore related to the area. They were fun and took great care of everyone, enhancing the already mind-blowing experience. The scenery was spectacular, and I couldn't stop taking photos (though none truly capture the beauty of being there in person). This is an adventure I’ll remember for a lifetime; it should definitely be a top bucket list experience for everyone visiting Iceland!

Juliana is great, well paced amazing tour - Really loved this experience. Well paced. You get to see 2 waterfalls and the impressive black sand beach. Finally you board a superjeepand take a beautiful scenic route through the snow to the ice cave Katla.
Juliana our driver was FANTASTIC. She is such a warm, kind and helpful soul. She wants you to have the best time and just makes you feel so at ease. She tokd us stories while we got stuck in traffic due to road accident to keep us entertained. Such a wonderful human.
Jake was one of the ice cave guides...brilliant and so chilled he just had that personality. He made us feel at ease to ask questions and take pictures. He was playful and funny, which just made the experience better. He also did a mini stunt for us down the snow mountain, which was funny and brilliant. Some tour guides can be a little direct and too serious (maybe cultural), which makes you feel like you can't engage or ask questions.

If you want to know the ice caves this tour is your best option! - Really don’t miss the opportunity to go on this tour, it’s an experience you don’t live every day! It's like being on another planet, stefan is amazing as a guide, really recommended 100%

Amazing Journey 2024 - I had an amazing experience during this trip excursion thanks to the hospitality I have recieved from the guide's team and also from the hotel mechanic Hernan which helps us repair our tire giving us a really good treatment and accurate tips about how to drive on ice-road. Excellent journey!
