Excellent views worth visiting - This attraction is well worth visiting despite being a little out of the main touristy areas in Vienna. It had excellent views, was very safe and didn't go round too fast.

Big Ferris wheel big view - Quick and easy no line at 8 PM on a Sunday night. We may go back and try platform nine during the day. Very safe. Staff very helpful.

The Vienna Ferris Wheel 😃 - The Vienna Ferris wheel was built in 1897. She survived the bombing. It peaks at 65 m and completes a full circle in 20 minutes. This leaves time to take fabulous shots of the city, seen from above. It is a famous landmark in Vienna and a great way to admire all the views.😊

Riding a piece of history and great views over Prater and the city of Vienna - This was the second time I had ridden the Riesenrad - the first was way back in 2005. The 20 year gap is nothing when you think the wheel was first built in 1897. It was largely destroyed by fire in 1944 but was rebuilt the following year using the original structure. We had a guided tour by one of the park's ride owners as part of our visit (which was organised as a special deal for our roller coaster enthusiast club). The Riesenrad offers wonderful views of the Prater and the city landscape. In the station area there are loads of historical displays etc...we didn't peruse them this time but I know we did on the 2005 visit. It definitely feels like you are riding a piece of history when you ride the Wiener Riesenrad. There are extras you can book such as dining and the thrill-seeking Platform 9 option (introduced in 2022 and featuring a steel structure with a glass floor that you stand on instead of being inside a gondola). It looks amazing but we didn't have the time to do that too.

Excellent - You should head to the ticket office and nothing else, it's very comfortable, the views are worth it, then take a walk in the park

One of THE sights in Vienna - I suppose this is a must go tick in the box type of place. The renowned Ferris wheel in Viena. Went off season and pre-booked online. There weren't any queues on arrival. The pre ride walk round the models was interesting. The view from the top is good, you can see all over Vienna. Nice slow ride round with each cabin stopping to pick up / let off passengers, very sedate.

known from the James Bond movie - The Ferris wheel in the Prater is one of Vienna's most famous motifs. As a James Bond fan, I can still remember this one. It belongs to the amusement park Prater, where there are many other lifts to visit. But the most famous attraction is certainly the Ferris wheel. Price certainly not quite cheap, but the ride is fun and gives a nice view of the Prater and of Vienna and the surrounding area.
