from Klimt to Schiele a joy for the eyes - Usually you approach the Belvedere museum attracted by the privilege of seeing the "mythical" kiss of Klimt (which alone would justify the trip to Vienna), but then you can not be dazzled by the richness and importance of the entire collection. Don't miss it

For lovers of the avant-garde paintings of the late S. XIX, early S. XX - Advised visit to the top of the Museum where I think one of Top-rated Painters in History is staying. Watching "The Kiss" in person has been a great experience, apart from other wonderful paintings. Apart from Gustav Klimt you can also enjoy interesting works by a great painter advanced to his time such as Egon Schiele, some works by Monet and Kokoschka. Large collection of the new Central European avant-garde currents basically from Austria, Hungary and Czech Republic of the late S. 19th and early 20th..

Got to see The Kiss! - Really wanted to see the original of my favorite Gustav Klimt painting "The Kiss". Glad I obtained tickets online before the trip - quite the lines. Lovely grounds and interesting exhibits on all floors. Several other original Klimt paintings as well, and a very good gift shop with a wide range of items and prices (I bought a lovely embossed postcard of The Kiss for only 2 euros! Will frame it to enjoy at home.

I wanted to see you kiss. - Visit with a tour Guide. Good to see you kiss. Klimt's style of painting changed when I asked the Guide. I like gold paintings.

To see The Kiss - Let's start with something. It's the only gallery where I actually queued for half an hour under the scorching sun. So see if you can find a ticket online. Just purchased you usually enter an hour later, so it is better to go to the upper entrance to make a ticket and look at the gardens while you make the entrance time. The exhibition is beautiful the Klimts will not leave you disappointed in addition to much more (nothing exceptional but interesting). Put a 2 euro coin in your pocket to unlock the wardrobe locker. The free gardens are huge but rather anonymous from a botanical Listing.

Upper Belvedere - book in advanced - We saw both the Upper and Lower Belvedere. The upper belvedere was impressive with a grand building and a lot of galleries to see (if you like modern art). The Lower Belvedere was not as impressive (I would recommend skipping it if you see the Upper Belvedere). Careful to book in advanced, the time slots where sold out when we arrived around noon, we only got in because we had a fast travel pass (Vienna Pass - read the details for attractions!). During August it was very hot so we did not spend a lot of time in the gardens (there was very little shade),

Come for the Klimt - You come for the Klimt - and his works don’t disappoint in any way - but so does everyone else, and it can be a little crammed around The Kiss especially with people desperate to take selfies with the painting and not caring if they get in everyone else’s way. The rest of Klimt’s work is impressive, and so are the Monet and Munch works you see in the same section of the palace. Beyond that though, the collection is okay but nothing spectacular - so much hangs on the Klimt work and the rest is a bit of a disappointment. We went in with the Vienna Pass and so it didn’t bother us too much to be in and out in under an hour, but it would have been different if we had paid specifically. Outside, the grounds of the palace and the views are spectacular - and free - but crowded near the palace as a result.

Palace tour - Decent walk through this palace. Too crowded and hot. There was no AC. The grounds outside the palace were nice to walk through.

Expensive - I loved the atmosphere of this place. Their collections are unique and worth seeing. I bought my ticket online because there was a long queue at the box office. Be aware that the prices are quite expensive.
