Meeting point is 15-10 minutes before departure in front of the Opera Fountain at the Vienna State Opera. Take the lines U1 (red), U2 (purple) or U4 (green) to station "Karlsplatz". Follow the exit "Oper" and walk left along the Vienna State Opera to get to Operngasse.

Vienna palace great - The palace was a stunner.pick up was well described and all well to plan, the drive around town wth live guide was moving quick but gave you an overall experience of the city,perfect for those who were only there for day or 2

Average worth the money - no proper city tour - The trip to Schönbrunn was well organized and very well managed. However, the Vienna Historical City Tour is not worth it as the bus just drives around a fe minutes to catch a glimpse of the notable sites but you can’t get down at any site. Would suggest that to get a proper city tour would be a better idea + the Schönbrunn palace

Reconsider if you need a guide - You need to consider if skipping the line is worth it. It was convenient to have a transport to the Palace and back to town and hear a bit of history of the city. My friends found out much more by listening to the recorded guide than our group. Every guide has its flavour, mine was boring to me. Heard everything I didn’t care about and very little what I was interested in. There are other ways to book tickets and not queue.

Average - The sites of the tour itself were well worth the visit although to properly visit the Palace requires a minimum of half a day, given its size (including the gardens). Our tour was mixed Spanish and English speaking, which we felt meant that we only got part of the information that would have been shared on purely english speaking tour. This was only a minor point, but when you are driving past points of interest, timing of the information sharing is important, and this cannot be achieved if the guide has to repeat the information in another language. So in the end someone misses out. The guide was knowledgable but did not appear too enthusiastic.

ONLY IF YOU ENJOY 18th Century PART OF HABSBURG HISTORY - Took an english tour, had an english and german tour! 1 hour of city tour in the bus before heading to the site, not desired nor asked for. When getting to the venue, 1/2h of free time before the tour started. Tour started in confusion and was crowded. Very specific on 1 part of the Schoenbrunn castle (Maria Theresa), but nothing for the rest of the site ( Franz-Ferdinand/Sissi, gardens, etc).
