During your visit, you can also explore the Abbey church and the garden pavilion. After approximately an hour in Melk, continue your journey through the Austrian countryside, passing lakes and mountains, to your next destination, the charming town of Hallstatt.
- Hallstatt - Nestled between mountains and a lake, Hallstatt is famed as one of Europe’s most photographed villages. During your approximately 1.5-hour visit, you can visit the Skywalk 360m platform for breathtaking views, stroll along the Promenade into the colorful town center with its numerous small shops, and enjoy local delicacies by Hallstatt lake to make your visit even more memorable.
- Lake Wolfgang - The route from Hallstatt to Salzburg offers spectacular panoramic views of the lakes in the Salzkammergut region. We will provide a photo break opportunity at Lake Wolfgang in the town of Sankt Gilgen. Feel free to ask the driver for any additional short stops along this route to capture the picturesque scenery of the Austrian lakes.
- Salzburg - The tour continues with a visit to Salzburg. Upon arrival, independently explore the UNESCO-protected Old Town, the Mirabell Palace Gardens—used as a filming location for the popular “Sound of Music” movie and the “Do-Re-Mi” song—or enjoy a spectacular view of the city from the Hohensalzburg fortress. Surrounded by mountains, Salzburg is renowned as Mozart’s birthplace, and you can try Mozart chocolate, available only in Salzburg. After concluding our day in Salzburg around 17:30 - 18:00, we will drive you back to your accommodation in Vienna, where your day tour with us began.

We had a wonderful day... - We had a wonderful day with our driver D. He was very prompt with pick up, very easy to talk with, and very informative. The tour was very flexible and we never felt rushed. Highly recommended.

Must Do day trip - This trip was an amazing experience! Our day started with a stop at Melk before the tour buses arrived and had the church and picturesque view to ourselves! From there we were off to beautiful Hallstatt. You are greeted by a waterfall and the quaint city below. From there and as a surprise “D” took us to the place of the opening scene of The Sound of Music!!!!!!! Finally, Salzburg with its beautiful gardens and equally great restaurants.
Thanks again to “D” who went above and beyond to make our trip a memorable one!

Perfect Day-Trip! - This made for the PERFECT excursion for the day! I was hesitant at first because it was a long day, but our driver made us really comfortable, and we had a ton of fun. "D" was our driver, and I think he was half the fun getting to hang out with! Everything was paced to our preferences in terms of timings, our guide answered any and all questions that we had, and we had plenty of time in each place.

Hallstatt Winter Experience - We had an excellent time. Our driver was Romano. We did this trip in late December after Christmas. We purposely decided as a family to only go to Hallstatt. That was intentional as the sun goes down early and we wouldn’t have time to do other locations.
Hallstatt was beautiful and we had 3-4 hours there. On our way back we did two stops suggested by our driver, Romano, at a lake for beautiful pictures. One of the stops included a small castle - town called Mundt.
Also - the driver was safe. This was a concern of mine because of it being winter.

Day Trip to Melk/Hallstatt/Salzburg - Wonderful day trip to some lovely parts of Austria, especially Hallstatt. This trip was a nice way to get out of the city and see a bit of the Austrian countryside, including the Alps. Our guide, Romano, was absolutely wonderful – incredibly informative on any subject you could think of and always helpful and accommodating.

Highly recommend!! See the REAL Austria!! - As a group of 3 friends who love to travel and get a real feel for the country we’re visiting, this organised trip did just that!
We came to Vienna for 5 days and wanted to explore outside Vienna and found this on Tripadvisor. The reason I opted for this organised trip was because it was private and not with an organised group. When looking at price difference of going with an organised group and going private with just my friends and the guide/driver with a Mercedes…this was a no brainer!
Our driver Davor (aka Mr D) was excellent! It was a real pleasure to get to know him. Davor gave us lots of interesting historical and funny facts about Austria and made the trip more pleasant!
The trip starts at 7:30am and the whole thing is flexible on what you want to do. We went with the advise of Davor and wanted to see Melk, Hallstatt and Salzburg. Once at the destination the driver tells you where to go and what to see and you have free time to explore on your own. You have enough time to take pictures, walk around and get a feel of the place.
This trip enabled us to see the REAL Austria! If you’re impressed with Vienna, the breathtaking views you will see exploring Melk, Hallstatt and Salzburg are on another level! We went a week before Christmas and let me tell you Austria do Christmas on another level, its truly a hallmark Christmas experience visiting these places and there is a reason why Austria have the best Christmas markets in the world!

Worth the experience! - Romano was an exceptional guide and we enjoyed our day trip out of Vienna. The ride was comfortable and he was such a gentleman. There was sufficient time to walk about the different areas and he was very flexible and allowed us to stay longer at areas. We had a great time exploring and taking photos. We recommend this to anyone who is considering to book a private trip out of Vienna! Thank you Romano for this wonderful experience (:

Great experience! - Great trip with Darko. Tour was on time and ride was comfortable. I like that he knew the best times to be at certain places to avoid the crowd. We travelled with a 4-year old and two seniors and he would assist us and consider these things. One of the great experiences we had during our Austria trip. Super worth it!

Magical Hallstatt - We have taken several trips through TripAdvisor but this one is truly my favorite. Hallstatt and Salzburg were beautiful and I couldn’t say more wonderful things about either.
Of course this trip wouldn’t be as wonderful as it was without the services of this company and especially Darko. He showed up on time with a comfortable vehicle. He ensured we were comfortable throughout the day, stopped to take several beautiful pictures, and customized the trip to our wishes. He is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot, not just on sites we visited but Austria in general. Although you will see a lot in one day, you are provided enough time in each location to explore. Darko asked for our expectations and what we wanted to experience, and based the trip around that, providing us with options.
I would highly recommend this tour, and especially with Darko.

Lots of car, little time to visit - A great family day with our driver DARKO.
Be careful despite its immense kindness and flexibility, you will not be accompanied by a guide, you will be dropped off at the places of your choice recommended by your driver.
Time to visit and too much car (7 hours in total).
Fortunately we had a superb sunny day.
Many tourist buses (especially Chinese), spoil the moments of visits and walks that we would like more private...
We expected much more beautiful landscapes and views.
