Always an experience - The MAK is a very good museum, which mostly meets my taste with its focus. From the museum to the shop to the salon Plafon, I always visit everything because everything is so great.

Wow. Always impressive! - This museum packs a punch. It always fascinates and presents remarkable exhibits. The displays of art, furniture, ceramics, glass and inventions are exceptional. This museum is also in a monumental building. It should be rated much higher.

Fascinating museum of Design and Innovation - Very interesting museum of design and innovation in a fabulous building. The exhibits were fascinating. Do not miss the Klimt art display in the Vienna 1900 collection. We visited the AUT NOW 100 × Austrian Design for the 21st Century exhibit. Fascinating. Be sure to check the current exhibits before you go.

Storm Boris Weekend - I always enjoy visiting museums with textiles and other applied arts. This museum wasn’t very large but it highlights some particular Austrian arts and crafts. We visited first thing in the morning so it was not crowded at all. We stopped for coffee before leaving and the cafe was packed! Obviously a popular place for Saturday brunch.

What cute glasses I bought - I loved this museum. Very interesting. A very pleasant experience. I advise you to visit. It has rooms where you can interact. You can't leave without sitting on the sofa at the entrance 😂😂

Viennese furniture from the 900s - The exhibition includes art nouveau chairs and Biedermeier furniture. Also baroque and rococo rooms. The most important Attraction however is the Gustav Klimt frieze.

Frustrating display, terrible audio guide - This museum is trying to be inventive in the way they're displaying the items, but it just becomes confusing and makes for a frustrating viewing experience. They let contemporary artists display portions of the permanent collection. One artist just threw things on the floor in no apparent order. I believe the permanent collection should either be displayed by era or by category (e.g., here's how tableware design transformed over time). Do one conceptual presentation as a special exhibit, but for god's sakes, leave the permanent collection arranged in an accessible way. They did away with wall text in favor of audio guide, which is in theory a good idea. But the audio guide was unusable. I chose the option that claims: press play and put your phone away; we will guide you through the rooms. Hardly! After an overview of the room, it starts talking about a specific item. Which item in the room is it? No way to know. You have to reach for your phone and find the tiny image and run around the room to find it. Very hard, in the case of lace items, where very square of lace looks the same on a tiny image. I then switched over to the option where you swipe a pattern in dots in order to access a specific item's audio description; many of the patterns I tried to swipe were not recognized. You have to reset playing speed each time you press play. Also, it seems that they tasked AI to create the voiceover, since many words were mispronounced in a robotic way: "comb" was pronounced "coom", "baroque" was "barock." Very disappointing. I love applied arts, but this museum seemed focused on preventing me from viewing them. Their cafe is great though. Worth visiting even if you skip the museum.

Totally disappointed - We went to the Mak today. We expected a lot from the Dagobert Peche exhibition. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing. At the beginning, when one enters the exhibition, the end of D. Peche's life is described and not the beginning of his life, and the various stations. That means you have to go back and forth unnecessarily. The description of the individual objects are so small and poorly lit and attached far too low, so you have to constantly dislocate and see almost nothing through the poor illumination of the microscopic signs, and at some point you just give up. The chipboard walls also take some getting used to. Maybe you wanted to save, but that's how it's easy wrong. The interesting bad luck objects have the art trade and even on "Willhaben" you can find more beautiful pieces. We recently visited a Matisse exhibition in Mestre, yes in Mestre, and one in Padua, and so one imagines exhibitions, although Matisse in Mestre was also free. Now I can say, unfortunately, it's too bad about the money and the time.

"Museum That Hates Children - Avoid if You Have Kids" - "Museum That Hates Children - Avoid if You Have Kids" This was, without a doubt, the most horrible experience I have ever had at any museum. If you have children, do NOT come here—they are clearly not welcome. From the moment we entered, the curators in every room made us feel like we were a nuisance. They followed us around like Gestapo police, making the entire visit feel oppressive and unwelcoming. The worst part was when a lady yelled at my 6-year-old child because he touched something. He was so scared that we had to leave that part of the exhibition altogether. It was heartbreaking to see him frightened in what should have been an enjoyable, educational environment. Downstairs, in the "interactive" section where you're supposed to draw on an erasable wall with markers, we were scolded again. Apparently, my child was "drawing too much" and "spoiling it for others." It's an erasable wall! What is the point if kids can't engage with it freely? In another interactive section, a staff member just stood there glaring at us while we played at the tables. The hostility from the staff made us feel completely unwelcome and uncomfortable. This museum needs to seriously reevaluate how it trains its staff and rethink whether it wants to advertise itself as family-friendly. Right now, it’s anything but. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with kids, and honestly, I regret the time and money spent here.
