Amazing and huge - Just prepare to spend about 3+ hours in there. And definitely get a matching ticket for the imperial treasury (that one took up about 30 minutes) but what an amazing experience. They also rent out power banks downstairs :). Buy the ticket before just so you can skip the queue it’s so much faster

Amazing history! - An amazing museum, very much worth a visit. Get prebooked tickets as queues for tickets were lengthy.
Once inside it was quieter than expected as there's plenty of space between display cases etc. Some of the displays had English notices about the contents, but some didn't, so make sure you have Google Translate on your phone. Amazing experience as you walk around, expect to spend either a morning or afternoon looking at everything. Small cafe in the museum with good coffee, cakes and other snacks etc, all for a reasonable price, unlike London museums which charge a fortune.
Highly recommended.

Skip the line is worth it! - We purchased the skip-the-line Kunsthistorisches Museum & Imperial Treasury tickets for $35US. I believe this actually saved us money and more importantly when we arrived it was raining, and we bypassed the long lines in the rain to go straight into the museum. Inside we purchased the audio guides. 6 euro for one person, and 8 euro for 2 adults – for some savings. We ate lunch at the café in the museum. A bit of a wait. Food was good, but not special compared to the many restaurants in central Vienna – but a nice break in the museum tour. The collection is very good. The Imperial Treasury was nice, but not quite a good comparison to the English Crown jewels.

Beautiful paintings and more. - It was a, uh, big museum. Beautiful paintings by Vermeer, Rembrandt and Breugel. But also the huge amount of beautiful tableware and other gadgets were very worthwhile. There was also a department with Egyptian pieces, but I didn't have time for that anymore, it was really big.

Great experience - This is an impressive museum with much to see. Even with a couple of exhibitions closed you can be here for hours viewing the unique art pieces and sculptures. The cafe area is impressive; be prepared for crowds on the upper levels if you want to get a photo.
I recommend purchasing the combined ticket to see the imperial treasury, which is in a separate but nearby location. The treasury has grand pieces and can be completed in about half an hour so it can likely fit into itineraries. Just be aware that there is no dedicated exit so you have to walk back through the exhibit's entrance to leave.

Fantastic - The showpiece, of course, is the reichskroon from 950. Really fantastic. But also the saint along and various other crowns. Absolutely go!!

Imperial Treasury (Schatzkammer) – A Must-See for History Fans - The Imperial Treasury is full of breathtaking exhibits from both secular and religious history. Highlights include the Holy Lance, the Veil of Veronica, and the world’s largest cut emerald. A fascinating and impressive collection that gives great insight into the power and symbolism of the Habsburg dynasty.

Mind-boggling collection! - I will review only the Imperial Treasury and skip the Art History Museum. A visit to Hofburg wouldn't be complete without going to the Imperial Treasury. On display is a magnificent collection of crowns, scepters, imperial vestments, royal paraphernalia, religious items, and much more. It's a glimpse into the extravagant life of Austrian royalty especially when its members carry out official functions. However, I have some serious doubts as to the authenticity of the relics in the collection (like pieces of Jesus' swaddling clothes and of the table cover used during the Last Supper, etc.) which supposedly serves to demonstrate how pious and devoted the Habsburgs were. At any rate, also on display are vestments and other items used by imperial officials. This is one museum you should never miss when you visit Hofburg!

Mostly robes, not what I necessarily think of as 'treasure' - There are several different museums within the Hofburg complex, all of which are close to each other but require separate admissions. This was one of them. It seemed like it might be interesting, and online photos play up the 'crown jewels' type aspects. I bought tickets online. This was not one where you had a timed entry, so it had some flexibility. I don't recall if they required you to check backpacks, as we left ours at the hotel that day due to another associated museum's prohibition on them.
My verdict on this was that it was not as interesting as I'd hoped. Their breakdown is roughly: 20% crowns, swords, and jewels. 25% religious items like reliquaries. 50% robes (coronation, etc.). 5% miscellaneous. By far, the most common thing you'll see are robes / clothes. They did have a good audio guide (for a nominal extra charge). But if I'd known exactly what to expect, I don't think I'd have come here. It depends on what you are personally interested in, of course. However, given that most trips have a limited time budget, I think I'd have spent that time at some other museum / attraction instead.
We spent about an hour touring the whole place, which was not small.
