Informative and visual - Very detailed information provided and interesting facts given. At times it made me sad to see so many lives killed because of a Civil War between two sides that just could not get along. It's like 2025 history is trying to repeat itself with this new awful administration

We liked it - This park had a LOT of closed roads and this was our first tour with this guy. We hit a lot of things out of order and some were inaccessible. It wasn't this tour's fault though and we did a second one of his tours in Shiloh yesterday that went perfectly. It's definitely worth the money. He speaks clearly and is easy to understand. It's like having your own documentary narrator in your car lol

Vicksburg - Nice trip with stories to explain and educate. Fun experience and you don’t have to leave the car unless you want to get out at exhibits.

Fantastic experience - A fantastic opportunity to revisit our nations history. Enjoyed reading all of the monuments and plaques about the Commanders and their respective regiments. Being a native Texas I especially enjoyed the Texas memorial

Good tour - Inexpensive guided tour made our visit to the battlefield come alive. I would advise you to visit the information center at the beginning of the drive to get an overview of the battle, but the narration was great. Some of the tour area had some erosion to the road and was blocked off - so we did have to backtrack a bit. We also visited the Ironside battleship Cairo that was bombed during the battle of Vicksburg and sat on the river bed until the 1960's when it was excavated. This is included with the battlefield entrance. There is a National Park entrance fee unless you have a pass.

Easy battlefield experience - It was easy way to tour the battlefield. Unfortunately, there was some erosion and landslide activity on the drive so we had to backtrack. Otherwise, it was a good tour.

Feel like you are there. - We downloaded the app and used the audio tour ($17 per car). It made you able to visualize the soldiers in the trenches, soldiers in the trees, soldiers loading cannons, soldiers in hand to hand battles. You felt like you were there. You are sadly reminded of the lives that were lost. Monuments are impressive. Love that all this is preserved. Part of our history that is important.

Tour was very enjoyable except for... - The self-guided tour of the Vicksburg National Military Park was wonderful. The information given at each of the different stops was very informative along with additional info which could be clicked on at some of the stops. My one issue with the tour was the fact that a couple of the roads on the tour were closed due to erosion. This made maneuvering and following parts of the tour difficult, and would not allow us to see all of the stops on the tour. The fact that these roads have been closed for some time should have been taken into account on the tour being offered, and a new route should have been programmed into the App.
