Spectacular Swiss travel experience! - Cruising on Lake Geneva in your old fashioned lake bateau was an amazing fun experience. The views from the boat were spectacular ! And arriving by bateau to Chillon Castle was a million dollar view! One comment: a return schedule posted on that board by the dock would have been helpful.

Great cruise with views along the shore & across the lake - The internet advised to book this trip early, however, you can hop on & off the boat at various stops, just check the CGN schedule. As you also get discount tickets when staying in the area, another reason to wait till you get to Switzerland. That said - I suspect it could be busy in the summer months. We got on at Vevey (paddle steamer Italie) & had 2 hour cruise along the shore to Montreux ( it stops before here & also at Montreux) Then Chateaux de Chillon before heading towards the other side of the lake. Another couple of stops then directly back across to Vevey. Very comfortable facilities. Worth the little extra for First class,as better seating & lounge.

I enjoyed the typical Swiss scenery. - Shortly after leaving Vevey, you can see the fork piercing Lake Geneva in front of the Alimentarium from the lake side. The slopes of the Lavaux region were also beautiful. I was able to spend a relaxing time in this Swiss resort. I really got a sense of the richness of Switzerland. Even if the finish line wasn't Château de Sion, it was a satisfying cruise.

Storming the castle - Most lovely cruise and remarkable trip through a castle. Loved every minute of it. Saw the moats and the hill fortress. Love checking out the menus of the 14th century to entertain mass quantities of guests.

A beautiful walk on the lake - Very pleasant little cruise with lunch in a magnificent 130 year old paddle steamer. From Vevey we pass Tour-de-Peilz, Clarens, Montreux, Territet, Chateau de Chillon, etc.

Great round trip by ship across the lake in a paddle wheel ship - You pay once and you can get off all day at the different places and continue in one direction again. Just wonderful to dress over the lake and just great to see different villages. Approximately every 2 hours this ship stops again and you can board again. Absolutely great we enjoyed it very much. It is also very suitable for children. The entire cleaning staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

A BIG disappointment, and not as advertised - This was a major disappointment. What was advertised as a cruise on a Belle Epoque boat ended up being a ferry ride around part of the lake on an ugly, modern-looking boat with no charm or character. To use the word "cruise" is a major stretch. The entire reason for booking this was to sail on one of the lovely side wheelers that's in all the advertisements; otherwise, I would have saved my money. To top it off, it rained for about 15 minutes, and not once did any of the crew come outside to wipe the seats dry. So, you either had to stand, or sit in a wet seat. Kids were allowed to run around like banshees, slamming into people and screaming. No one ever said a word to them. The monotonous docking and undocking every 10 minutes or so to let people on and off, plus being on an uninteresting, sterile boat without any of the charm that was advertised, is blatant false advertising. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 rating is because the lake is indeed beautiful; otherwise, it would be a 1.

Not as advertised - This was a major disappointment. What is advertised as a two hour cruise is actually just a ferry ride around part of the lake where people get on and off (the word 'ferry' is nowhere to be found in the Viator description). The biggest let down, however, was that this was NOT on a Belle Epoque boat. Instead, it was on an ugly, modern-looking thing that had zero charm or character. The entire reason for booking this was because it was supposed to be on a Belle Epoque boat (I'm a ship fanatic); otherwise, I would have saved my money. To top it off, it rained for about 15 minutes during the trip, and no one ever came outside to wipe the seats off. So, you either had to sit or stand inside, stand outside, or sit on a wet seat. Kids were allowed to run around like banshees, slamming into people, and screaming. No one ever said anything to them. Yes, the lake is beautiful...especially when the Belle Epoque boat passed by. Too bad their view of the tub we were on wasn't as good.

Experience that will not be repeated - The meal was a real disaster Raw green beans as a starter. 2nd course served more than an hour later, beef paupiette burnt with some pieces of carrot and dessert (metro) but acceptable. ..The staff was very smiling to pass on this meal that I would never dare serve to guests. Your kitchen may need to be reviewed.Tourists are not just people to exploit. The cruise was very beautiful and the sun was present apart from these culinary considerations.
