First class tour of Vestmannaeyjar - Fun and highly informative tour that provided great opportunities to observe puffins, as well as a good introduction to the physical environment and history of Vestmannaeyjar Island. Ebbi, a native of the island, was an upbeat, knowledgeable and helpful guide.

MUST DO TOUR on Heimaey - If you visit Heimaey Island, I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. We visited with my family (kids age 14 and 11) in July with Ebbi as an our tour guide and it was one of the best parts of the trip. You quickly realize you are in very good hands with Ebbi who has deep family roots on the island and is a wealth of information. The tour is a bus, but the stops are almost every 5 minutes or less, so it feels much more like a walking tour of the island. The Viking house which Ebbi brings you to was very fun for the kids. It is a quick and efficient tour. We left with a much better understanding of the history of the island, and also seeing some very cool sights. It is well worth the time.

Best tour on Heimaey to see all major points of interest. - Puffins for in season, elephant Rock, the giant swing to teach kids swinging up cliffs for eggs, golf course in crater, Viking covered house interactive, black beach and the heart of the volcano. All bus with native islander narrator. Ebbi was fabulous

Do this tour in Heimaey first! So comprehensive! - If you are in Heimaey, Iceland by ship…skip the ship tours, this one is light years better and Ebbi will get you to your tenders on time! Puffin season is done by mid to late August however. we were there on August 9 and thousands had already left for the South Atlantic. This is not a winter tour if you want primarily puffins. The trip around the island was wonderful, we saw the “tarzan” swing kids learn to use to get up the cliffs to get eggs. For food for themselves. There is also a strict number which can be taken. saw the “Viking houses” replica with an interactive presentation, next to the crater golf course and music festival site. Stopped to enjoy Elephant Rock and learn more Viking Lore., then up to the windiest spot on Iceland, view to the black beach. We saw the largest puffin colony and were able to spend time enjoying watching then swoop down and back up to their tunnels. Last but not least we drove into the center of the crater of the most recent, 1973, volcano that caused the evacuation of all the islanders. They were not allowed to return for 5 months.and the land several meters was still warm enough to bake bread. By far the best tour for us on our tour!

Highly entertaining and informative! - Great tour! Ebbi was fun and informative. He provided a comprehensive introduction to the island, its history, and personality at each stop. And. . . Puffins! Also great recommendations for local businesses at the end of the tour. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting this island!

More than we ever expected! - Shortly after boarding the mini-bus our tour guide Ebbi produced a puffling his son caught the night before - they fly toward the light and for two weeks in August the local townsfolk collect the baby puffins to return them to their nesting area. We then saw him demonstrate swinging on a rope tied to a cliff to collect kittiwake eggs. He took us to a Viking house replication and we sampled vodka, dried cod, butter, seaweed and lava salt. We saw the puffins and volcano and heard much about both. At each stop Ebbi took pics of people within the group on their smartphones. He kept our teens engaged and off their phones. Great tour!

A great overview of Heimaey and Iceland in general. - The reviews of this tour are very accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and appreciated the small group size, Ebbi's enthusiasm, the wide variety of things that we saw, and the pacing. The puffins were the highlight, however, learning about egg harvesting, the big music festival in a crater and Vikings really gave a bigger perspective.
