Worth every penny! Our guide Humberto Farias was amazing. You’ll be lucky if you get him. Just sent him a $15 tip. - We loved hearing about the palace and the kings and also how things and decisions made then are still being felt today. Our guide Humberto Farias was amazing and really knew his stuff. And that combined with his great sense of humor and wit was a perfect combination.

A tour to remember - Excellent tour with well informed and calm guide It was easy to hear the guide and her commentary was interesting and easy to understand. She also navigated us through very crowded areas. It would have been overwhelming without her.

Ivan was a great guide and the tour was very good - We booked the 1/2 day tour with the fountain displays, which was enough walking for our group, but 9 were going for the full day. Our health app said our tour was about 2.5 miles of walking, including stairs. A word of advice to Americans in the habit of carrying a small pocketknife—DON’T—you’ll get to add another walk to the security desk in another building to store and retrieve it. Take water with you in the gardens. Our guide, Ivan, was quite knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of the French monarchy and the French Revolution. The inside of the palace with its ornamentation and many magnificent works of art is awe-inspiring, but don’t expect photo opportunities with some strangers head in it. We booked the 0915 tour and it was great to get expedited entrance to the palace, but expect several tours to be going in at the same time and it is very crowded. However, a tour is the way to go. We’ve been there before many years ago and didn’t go on a tour, and the tour groups made getting around very difficult. The gardens are magnificent. Unfortunately, the fountains are not flowing all of the time (they were 30 years ago, but I understand water conservation), so photo opportunities of flowing fountains, including at the large fountain at the entrance to the gardens are limited to the timed operation of different fountains. I recommend this tour!

A great way to see something grand! - It was a great way to capture the highlights… at least some… of the amazing Palace of Versailles! Our guide was knowledgeable and efficient, moving us through the crowds to help us capture a good overview of the grounds and palace. We had BIG transportation issues getting to Versailles on time but the tour team was flexible and able to adjust!

Versailles Guided Tour - Our tour guide Astrid was fantastic! So very friendly, knowledgable and helped us see all the musts. You may want more time in the garden though.

Be prepared to battle it out in peak season to gain entrance - even with a guide. - Wow this was an amazing palace - do not miss the gardens tour. Our guide was delightful but the French in charge of entrance were militant. If there is any doubt of rain pack an umbrella as you will be standing on a downpour for 30mins with no cover. Very good inside when drenched. Our guide did what she could and was a superstar but perhaps tell people beforehand to come with an umbrella and or sun shade to avoid discomfort in the ‘battle of the guides’ to get entrance into the palace. Shame on that one group of tourists who were impatient and stormed the entrance. Almost ruined it for all other groups.

Disappointing - Guide was knowledgeable and passionate about Versailles. Unfortunately pace in gardens was quick and 4 of the 6 fountains we visited were not working. Music show did not happen. The palace tour was too slow with too many side stories which were too long.

No compassion for sick child cancellation - Sadly we did not get to experience what was supposed to be a highlight of our trip to Paris as my child fell ill the morning of our pre-booked visit. I understand there is a 24-hour cancellation policy in place but when I contacted Viator to explain the exceptional circumstances they refused to offer either a refund or an alternative day to visit. So we lost £150. They mentioned the tour was sold out but then contradicted themselves by saying they could not re-sell our tickets. Surely if the demand is there this wouldn't have been a problem? Very disappointed with this inflexible customer service. A bit of empathy goes a long way...
