Great way to learn Venice - Great explanations on the history of Venice and answered lots of questions. Easily understood and entertaining.

Walking Venice and Gondola ride - It was interesting to learn about the history of Venice and how it was created from a salt water marsh, and how it changed in form and culture.

Great memories - Hearing the history of Venice and hearing the woman singing Volare in the gondola as we crossed a bridge. It brought me to tears remembering my father’s favorite song!

A good summary of Venice and how life did/does take place. - This was a good walking tour of some more residential sections of Venice nearer to Piazza San Marco. The most difficult part was exchanging the Viator voucher for tickets, as the meeting location is at a very busy spot. Allow sufficient time for waiting in a queue for your tickets, since only one window is open for that purpose. Once on the tour the guide provides useful history about Venice and how life there did/does take place. There is lots of walking and steps involved, but that is just part of visiting Venice! The gondola ride was a nice ending to the tour, shared with 2-3 other members of the tour group (it is not a private ride).

Disappointing Tour & Poor Audio - The tour guide walked quite fast, it was very busy & hard to keep up. The audio ear pieces were terrible & you could barely hear her. Nearly everyone in our group took them off. We were all disappointed at the end the guide didn’t show any of us where the gondola ride was, just took our audio ear pieces & walked off & left all of us standing there. I wouldn’t recommend this tour & we were pretty disappointed.

Would not recommend the gondola ride - The guided walking tour was excellent. I can remember her name but she took us down some side alleys and showed us some hidden gems we never would have seen. The gondola ride sucked. Several went out at one time which I understand but we stayed right next to another one most of the time and the gondoliers were all yelling back and forth to one another very loudly. He didn’t even attempt to speak with us. The ride was not what we expected. Very disappointed.

Very poor tour guide - First, I want to say that we have booked several excursions through Viator on this trip. And all have been spectacular. However, this walking tour Was very disappointing. And many others on our tour felt the same way. (9/13/24 3 pm). In fact, many of us were joking with each other about it. Our Guide could not have been more disinterested and it reflected in how she interacted with the group and what she chose to show us. Midway through the tour many of the people had just taken out their audio earpiece and put it in their pocket because Her information was so pedestrian. Additionally, we had a gentleman on our tour that was in a wheelchair, while he was able to slowly walk up and down the stairs over the canal, she literally had no regard for the pace at which he was able to go and just would takeoff walking, many times getting so far ahead that her microphone would disconnect from our audio because she was so far ahead of the group. I want to reiterate we have had wonderful experience with Viator, in fact had just come from another tour with Alessandra at Saint Marks and the Doge and she was brilliant and lovely. The gondola portion of the ride was beautiful. And we had no complaints there.

Not good - Tour guide seemed confused from the beginning. At end we were half hour over and then she didn’t know it was a part gondola tour. Then waited over hour for our tour. Very disappointing.
