- Ponte di Rialto - The Rialto Bridge is the oldest of the four bridges crossing the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. It connects the districts of San Marco and San Polo and has been reconstructed multiple times since its original pontoon bridge form in 1173. Today, it stands as a major tourist attraction. The current stone bridge, designed by Antonio da Ponte, was built between 1588 and 1591, resembling the wooden bridge it replaced. It features two ramps leading to a central portico, with covered ramps lined with shops on both sides. The bridge’s engineering was so bold that architect Vincenzo Scamozzi predicted its eventual collapse.
- San Polo - This district has hosted Venice’s main market since 1097 and has been linked to the eastern bank of the Grand Canal by the Rialto Bridge since the 13th century. The western section is renowned for its churches, while the eastern part, often referred to as the Rialto, is famous for its palaces and smaller residences.
