Practical, timely and suggestive - Practical and punctual service, as well as extraordinarily suggestive, since there is probably no other city that has such a mode of arrival from the airport!

Excellent service - Much more civilised than the airport bus to Piazalle Roma, the fight to reclaim suitcases and orientation of the correct Grand Canal embarcadero and vaporetto number. It is so much easier to leave the airport arrivals and get an Ailaguna return ticket. We needed return tickets on the orange line to go to Ca Rezzonico which cost us €27. We were also able to buy our 7 day tickets for the vaporetti at the same kiosk. I have airport assistant so the young lady took us to the departure point and I waited for the next orange line boat. Truthfully it was rather full, maybe over subscribed with some people having to wait for the next. The journey was 'choppy' at times but this was because of other boats including taxis going past very fast and creating waves. The majority of the passengers got off at Rialto so four of us enjoyed the rest of the journey in comfort.

Efficient method to get to Venice form the airport. - Alilaguna was efficient, but not the quickest way to get to Venice from the airport. The land bus No5 or Venice Express will get you to Venice station in 20 minutes. To further travel to S Marco, the vaporetto will take 50 minutes. Alilaguna from Airport to S Marco took 80 minutes in total, albeit without having to change.

Perfect - It did what it said on the tin! Reliable form of transport and so much cheaper than taxis! Enjoyed the experience. Timings were accurate too.

Aliguna not the best in my opinion. Big queues. Small boats. - Note that several different things are being reviewed in this thread. We used the Alilaguna water bus from the airport into the grand canal near our hotel and back again. It’s 15 euros each way and if you use it If you use this service I recommend Not buying your tickets online as you have to pick up real tickets from a desk or a machine in the airport anyway. We saw that the queues are very large and you will almost certainly have to wait an hour or so in line at busy times especially for the popular orange line. (In both directions). Whilst theoretically convenient with one form of transport, I would recommend you get the number 5 bus from the airport to the bus station, and walk across the square to the regular vaporetti water buses and get anywhere slightly faster without having much of a queue. Ticket machines for bus and water bus are available with combined options, singles, returns and daily passes. Combined ticket 18 euros but in my view a better option. Ps you can pay 100+ euros for a private water taxi which is very convenient but also very expensive.

If you need punctuality... AVOID IT! - Overcrowded and often delayed ferries.. We almost missed the plane. Staff often rude and rude.

Outbound great, outbound disaster - The way out from the airport to the city was great. You slowly approach your destination via water - at what other airport is there? But the way back was a disaster : we had thought the night before about taking the ship back to the airport. So quickly booked online tickets, the website also promised "instant digital tickets". What I got was a voucher to exchange for the actual ticket somewhere in town. In itself, an imposition to promise digital tickets and then force you to walk around. Added to this in our case, that of course on Saturday evening all ticket shops had already closed. Well, then we just go back the tickets, on the website they also advertise with "free cancellation". This too has failed: The email with the voucher stated that tickets can only be returned at least 24 hours in advance. When booking, no reference to it, no footnote, no disclaimer, you will only find out afterwards. Alilaguna customer service is very sorry and "understands my frustration" but withdraws from the 24-hour rule. No progress, 30 euros spent on a pointless mail. Customer friendliness is different.

Poor service - I recommend exploring alternative transportation options, such as the bus or train, as the water taxi service is unreliable and often unpredictable. Don't rely on the timetable, as it seems to be nonexistent. Even if you wait in line for 30 minutes, there’s no guarantee that you will board, which can result in extended waiting times that exceed an hour. Staff are clearly unhelpful.

BAD SERVICE!!! MAI PIU!!! - BAD service!!! At the boarding raft in F.NOVE to the airport the boat stopped 10 seconds!!! did not give us time to "override" other people waiting for other boats! We wait for the next (30 minutes), at the next stop (Murano) FOUR PEOPLE MORE 'THAN ALLOWED (who refuse to get off!) and the captain REFUSES TO LEAVE! WE WERE STOPPED 45 MINUTES!!!! and only after the insistence of several people who risked missing the flight, it started again!!! ABSURD!!!!

Ugh…learn from our bad experience - We waited 1 hour and 30 minutes for a boat. Many boats went by full. Note you need a paper ticked or a digital ticket to get on the boat. You cannot just scan your credit card at the kiosk that is only for the intercity boats.
