- Viking Rafting - This afternoon family-friendly adventure delivers an unforgettable, hands-on journey into the untamed beauty of northern Iceland’s river wilderness.
Make your way to the rafting base in Hafgrímsstaðir where your adventure starts. Begin by meeting your international team of guides at the river base, where you will get prepared and dressed in drysuits for your trip. From there, the rafting bus will take you on the short road to the put-in point for the raft at the West Glacial River. After a full explanation, demonstration, and training with your guides, push off from the river bank for a 90-minute, 10km descent of gentle rapids, spectacular scenery, and riverside hot springs. Conditions permitting, boost your excitement with a friendly cliff jump and a swim in the bubbling glacial waters of northern Iceland.
Along the way, enjoy a steaming cup of hot cocoa made directly with natural hot water from a riverside hot spring!

Great family trip - Our family had a great time on the family rafting tour! Benji was an awesome guide, Roshan took some amazing pictures, & Amy navigated the off-road driving safely. A great crew, very helpful & friendly!

White water rafting - The trip was safe and fun. Our guide was experienced and knowledgeable. The lunch after the rafting was also excellent. I would highly recommend Viking Rafting.

Top 10 activity in (Northern) Iceland if you like adventure and a bit of challenge, especially for young children. - Wow what a nice raft trip this was in a very nice canyon. Mónica & crew got us through it well, top day!!

Excellent, Fun, Adventure - We wanted to go on a family adventure while camping in Akureyri, the Family tour with Viking rafting did not dissapoint, it was soooo much fun, the kids loved it, remarks like coolest experience ever. Our guides Benjy, Monica and Lucas were excellent and really made us feel safe and taken care of the whole time.

Can’t miss rafting adventure - This was the coolest rafting experience I have ever had! We did this activity as part of an Adventures by Disney itinerary, and it was an absolute highlight. The trip leader Benjy kept us both safe and entertained. And our raft guide Tarzan was so skilled—and actually let us believe we were helping.😉 It was fun, exhilarating, and some of the most beautiful scenery ever. I’d highly recommend this rafting experience to anyone.

Nothing but a perfect adventure! - We had a perfect adventure today - even me (one of the most scared persons in the world :-D ) felt very safe and had nothing but fun! It is very well organised, the crew is focused to make a perfect, fun tour for everyone, but very professional at any time.
I wouldn't believe it before - but I only could highly recommand this for everyone, even for scaredy-cats ;-)!

The dry suits are great! - Beforehand we were very afraid that we would get wet and get cold, but the dry suits with our clothes underneath kept us completely dry, including jump in the river.
It was ultimately very rewarding, we laughed very much with the guides! Unfortunately I forgot their names again so they won't get beers this weekend...

Family Adventure of a lifetime! - My family and I wanted to experience the beauty of Iceland and take on a new adventure together--we are so happy our rafting trip did just that! My husband, my self and our two children had the experience of a lifetime and while out of our comfort zone felt very safe and well taken care of by our guide. The staff was incredible, they arranged pick up from our cruise port and had a had a delicious home cooked meal prepared for us directly following. My kids will forever remember the hot cocoa made fresh from a hot spring--just amazing! Highly recommend!!!
