• Valiano - Perched on a hilltop in the prime winemaking region of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Valiano is a quaint village found along the route from Montepulciano to Cortona. Here lies a historic winery, surrounded by vineyards that extend from its center. In the 1300s, the estate was the core of the significant Fattoria di Valiano farm. Positioned on the border between the Papal States and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, it overlooks the Val di Chiana and has been a witness to key historical events, including the renowned reclamation and drainage of the Chiana valley. This remarkable engineering and hydraulic project was initiated by Leonardo da Vinci in 1500 and further developed by Antonio da Sangallo. Val di Chiana is located in Tuscany’s most fertile region. In the clay soils of this area, the esteemed Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, a distinguished Italian wine from Tuscany’s smallest appellation, is crafted.
• Palazzo Vecchio Winery - The story of the company will be shared, and a tour through the vineyards will explain the different grape varieties. The visit continues to the cellar, where wines are crafted using vinification techniques and aged in oak barrels. Guided by an expert, guests will taste six of the finest wine labels, discovering their history and organoleptic qualities. This sensory and pleasurable experience is a must-try. In the heart of a 1300s village, you will discover the history and a family where the Nobile di Montepulciano will be the protagonist. Enjoy the tour that will take you from the winery to the vineyards. In this experience you will be guided on a walk among the rows of 50 year old Prugnolo Gentile and Sangiovese and among the oak barrels of the aging cellar dating back to 1300, where the native Rosso di Montepulciano “Dogana”, the Nobile di Montepulciano “Maestro”, the elegant Nobile Riserva and the Terrarossa are still produced. At the end of the visit you will have the opportunity to taste 6 labels in a unique place: the panoramic terrace overlooking the beautiful vineyards of the estate and a 360 degree view of Montepulciano.
