- It was a very nice guided tour by Kristyn with a lot of very interesting information about the planation. Even it was very hot outside there were some stops with aircon or outside in the shadow. Also with kids possible.

Loved the stories - not just a beautiful plantation, but you get to see how the slaves lived too! - This plantation was one of our favorites. We have two kids- one 10, the other 13, and it was important to us that they see the actual living conditions and stories of the slaves and not just a beautiful home. Loved the stories, and the grounds are beautiful. Our tour guide was Diane and she was incredible. She is so young, so sharp, and spoke with such passion. Loved her!! Awesome visit

Definitely worth visting - This was a very educational and insightful experience. I learned an awful lot of rather interesting and sad facts about this particular sugar plantation, and Lee was an expecent tour guide.

A dive into the history of slavery in Louisiana - A very good view of life on the plantations of the time, with the differences between masters and slaves. It's both shocking and thought-provoking, all in a very didactic way. Very good visit

Guided tour in essential French - A very nice guided tour in French with Mark. We learn a lot about the history of this plantation and Laura’s family. We discover a beautiful colorful Creole house, a green garden that houses the houses of slaves. A visit that I recommend

Enjoyed! - We visited Laura, Oak Alley, and Whitney in a single day, which was ambitious but do-able since they are each within 10 miles of the next, on the River Road. We enjoyed learning about Creole culture at Laura. Our guide was Caroline and she was delightful. She presented a balanced perspective of the times and didn't gloss over the atrocities committed against the enslaved persons. We enjoyed the tour.

A visit to the top - The visit was great! The (French) guide was very good. Small plantation compared to others but much richer in history and therefore more interesting!

Where the story of masters and slaves in Louisiana took place - This guided tour in French is essential to try to understand the history of Louisiana, sugarcane planters and hardworking slaves in this commercial context. The guide explained very well the living conditions of each in the different spaces of the Laura plantation, housing spaces, workplaces.... Nowhere before have we felt the painful past of African American ascendants in places so full of history and history.

The most historically accurate plantation - This tour was the closest to how enslaved people were treated I've ever been a part of. Obviously, due to it being written by a white female, the full treatment of the blacks were not fully revealed, but much better. I love that the memoir talked about in the tour were compiled into a book they sell in the bookstore. The only criticism I have would be our tour guide not advising us that we wouldn't be visiting certain rooms so we should look or take pics while there. My husband is a history professor and he rarely leaves happy with the historical accuracy of the places we visit. He was incredibly impressed. Our tour guide, Mark, was patient and answered all questions. He allowed us to linger at our own time despite being the last tour of the day. He was phenomenal!
