Uyuni - Train Cemetery - Refinery - Incahuasi Island - Salt Hotel
Train Cemetery - Guests will be picked up from their accommodations in Uyuni at approximately 10:30 a.m. The first stop is just outside the city at the Train Cemetery. A short drive from the city limits reveals an array of abandoned locomotives, creating a unique and fascinating landscape.
Colchani - The next destination is Colchani Village. Here, visitors will explore the Salt Museum and the Salt Refinery to learn about the extraction and refinement process. The visit concludes with a stop at local artisan shops for souvenirs, rounding out the charming village experience.
Salar de Uyuni - 12:00 p.m. - At noon, the group will enter the Salt Desert, visiting the salt mounds, the “Ojos del Salar” (small holes in the ground revealing water below), and the intriguing Playa Blanca Museum, constructed entirely from salt blocks from the Uyuni Salt Flats.
Isla Incahuasi - 1:00 p.m. - The journey continues to Incahuasi Island, home to a unique variety of giant cacti. The island’s elevation offers one of the best vantage points to appreciate the stunning landscape. Guests are encouraged to take plenty of photos from this unique perspective of the Uyuni Salt Flats. After a short walk, lunch will be enjoyed on the white plains before continuing the adventure.
Uyuni - Around 7:00 p.m., the group will arrive at the Salt Hostel. En route, there will be an opportunity to enjoy the serene beauty of a sunset over the Salt Flats. Upon arrival at the hostel, dinner will be served, and guests will settle in for the night.
San Juan - Eduardo Avaroa Park - Siloli Desert - Laguna Colorada
Laguna Canapa - 7:00 a.m. - Day two begins with an early breakfast before departing for the renowned Colorada Lagoon, one of the largest and most picturesque lagoons. En route, the group will pass through the Chiguana Salt Flats and stop at the Ollague Volcano Viewpoint for panoramic views. Visits to the Cañapa, Hedionda, Hona, and Ramadita Lagoons, also known as the altiplanic or colored lagoons, will follow.
Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve of Andean Fauna - 9:00 a.m. - After passing through the Siloli Desert, the group will reach the Eduardo Avaroa National Park. Situated over 16,404 feet (5,000 meters) above sea level, the park offers views of stunning volcanic landscapes in various colors. A highlight is the famous stone tree, with a stop for a meal along the way.
Laguna Colorada - 6:00 p.m. - The final destination of the day is the Colorada Lagoon, home to three different species of flamingos. Guests will have about 20 minutes of free time to explore the lagoon and observe the diverse wildlife. The day concludes with accommodations near the lagoon, providing an opportunity to unwind and explore until nightfall. Dinner will be served before retiring to shared dorms (six beds) or a private room (available upon booking). Please note that the second-day accommodations are quite modest.
Sol de la Mañana - Hot Springs - Salvador Dalí Desert - Laguna Verde - Uyuni
Geiser Sol de la Mañana - 4:30 a.m. - An early start is necessary to visit the “Sol de La Mañana” Geyser Field, as geysers are more active in the early morning. This is also true for fumaroles and small craters with volcanic lava.
Uyuni - On the return journey to Uyuni, the group will make several stops, including the Black Lagoon, the Valley of Rocks, and the San Cristobal Village Church. Arrival in Uyuni is expected around 5:00 p.m., marking the end of an incredible Uyuni Salt Flats Tour experience.
