In the morning, you’ll be taken to the Inca Bridge at Ollantaytambo. This historical Incan structure, with its original pillars still intact, is a sight to behold. As you make your way upwards, you’ll gain a panoramic perspective of the city, which has been perpetually occupied since the Incan era. From there, you’ll proceed to the Cacchicata quarry, an area devoted to the sculpting and excavation of stones used to construct Ollantaytambo and other nearby edifices. Here, you’ll see the worn-out stones, enormous rocks left on the trail that demonstrate the scale of the ancient civilizations’ achievements. En route, you’ve the option of hiking for an hour to the IntiPunku or Sun Gate, a grandiose stone portal located at a mountain’s peak, offering a breathtaking view of Veronica Mountain. A boxed lunch will be served at the quarry before you head back to your hotel.
