Whales in the Bay - Excellent cruise from pick up at our hotel, the friendliness of the crew, lots of teas and coffees along with biscuits and cake initially then cheese and crackers on the journey back to port. The commentary during the whale watching was also very clear and comprehensive. The best bit by far were the whales themselves, 3 even coming to our boat and staying around for several minutes, swimming under and around the boat so we all could see them - up close and personal! Highly recommended.

Whales up close! - The staff were informative & knowledgeable. Got to see whales right next to the boat. Good amount of time watching pods of whales.

Special experience - We had an amazing time out looking for Whales, the staff were very friendly and informative. Morning tea and later cheese and biscuits were very welcome as we were out on the boat for 5 hours. We had fabulous encounters with numerous whales.

Wonderful morning experience recommend - What a great experience we set off in torrential rain but that didn’t put anyone off. When we got out to sea there was hot drinks and snacks provided. ( I would suggest instead of little prices of pizza, biscuits, cakes for the breakfast maybe a bacon roll or full size pastries) for the money. However the whales wee incredible for our trip and spent an hour playing with boat right next to us was truly wonderful. Our crew were lovely and the lady that spoke about the whales was extremely knowledgeable. Thank you.

Family Friendly! - We travelled with Tasman Ventures in August 2025 with a toddler and a newborn. It was raining outside, but the cruise did not disappoint! The crew were warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive — providing extra blankets, serving everyone with a hearty smile, and adding a personal touch to every interaction. We were lucky to enjoy plenty of whale encounters, including some breathtaking moments right next to the boat. Our guide was very experienced and made the trip even more engaging. Throughout the journey, free tea and delicious food platters were available in the cabin, along with plenty of extra options to choose from and purchase if you wished. A special thanks goes to Malina and Tasha, the wonderful ladies of the crew, who went above and beyond to help us set up a comfortable space for me to breastfeed our infant. We are a Sri Lankan family and met lovely French and German families with children, all of whom agreed that this is one of the most family- and kid-friendly cruises you could find. We would travel with Tasman Ventures again in a heartbeat!

Tasman Venture Half Day Whale Watching Tour – Absolutely Magnificent! - From start to finish, our experience with Tasman Venture was a solid 10/10. Everything was seamless—from the easy boarding process with no queues, or crowding, board at your one leisure, to the accessible ramp that made entry effortless for prams, wheelchairs, and families. We were warmly greeted by the skipper himself, a courteous and capable young man who even offered assistance with our pram. The entire crew was made up of young, friendly, and experienced women, which was both inspiring and empowering. It was a true example of modern female leadership and capability—a beautiful reminder that girls really can do it all! Special mention goes to Vicki, the eco-marine naturalist guide on board. Her commentary was engaging, informative, and full of passion. She brought the world of whales and marine life to life in such an accessible and exciting way—one of the best we’ve heard. And yes—the whales did not disappoint! We were lucky to see plenty of pods, a couple of breaches, and even had close encounters that took our breath away. What stood out most was the moment when, although we were already heading back, the tour made an unplanned stop around a particularly curious pod. The crew clearly noticed how engaged everyone was and chose to stay a bit longer so we could soak it in. That small act speaks volumes about how genuinely invested they are in people having an unforgettable experience—not just sticking to a schedule. Families with young kids were incredibly well looked after. There were toys available, and the crew went out of their way to help mums with little ones. A heartfelt thank you to Arana from Tasmania, a beautiful soul who went above and beyond to make us feel cared for throughout the journey. Also a big shoutout to Taja and the lovely team member from Victoria—they were amazing at catering, safety, and ensuring everyone was enjoying themselves. It was a particularly rocky day at sea, but the crew’s energy, support, and professionalism turned it into a fantastic and memorable adventure. From ginger chews to topping up water and offering ice and extra support, nothing was too much trouble for this team. A truly exceptional experience we’ll remember for a long time. Highly recommend to families, nature lovers, and anyone looking for a premium whale watching tour with heart, professionalism, and soul ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
